Cowes is the Isle of Wight's sailing town and attracts huge numbers of yachting people. The little town therefore has a good number of sailing shops selling sailing clothes and sailing boat accessories. However, Cowes is a pleasant town for landlubbers with a good selection of boutiques, a long seafront promenade going West towards Gurnard and a range of restaurants and cafes.

Gurnard is a pretty area to the West of Cowes and here you will find a beach and a hospitable coastal atmosphere.

Watch or Take Part in Sailing - The town of Cowes is probably best known for sailing. There is a sailing academy in Cowes but you may prefer to watch the racing which takes place close to the shore at Cowes.

Cowes Shopping - Cowes has a lovely range of boutique shops and is ideal for picking up sailing and maritime equipment.

Cowes Beach - There is a small beach at the West end of West Cowes. Many people come to relax and watch the boats sail by.
