South Isle of Wight is a wonderful combination of sandy beach resorts and quite coves as well as offering a wide variety of activities and attractions for those of all ages and interests. Families can enjoy the traditional beach holiday with the children at the resort of Ventnor with its attractive beach for swimming and sunbathing. Walkers and cyclists have access to the costal path as well as the downs which take them to the attractive rural centre of the Island. Fossil hunters have opportunities for big finds on some of the beaches and are able to enjoy the ocean at the same time. Historic buildings and organised attractions range from botanical gardens and historic buildings to adventure parks and adventure sports. The south also enjoys a wide range of places to eat and drink with a high concentration of the Isle of Wight’s best pubs and restaurants.
