The North of the Isle of Wight is most famous for the annual sailing race around the island from the port of Cowes. However, the north of the Island has much more to offer. With attractive coastline and scattered beaches, as well as unspoilt rural areas teeming with bird, animal and plant life and areas of great historical interest, the north has much to offer for a family holiday or those wishing to escape to peace and relaxation. Attractions include Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, the Maritime Museum, Butterfly World, Wildlife Safaris, a number of early churches and a wealth of walks and cycle routes.
