Lovely stone cottage within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only a 15 minute walk from the beach at Brook on the West Coast of the Isle of Wight. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area and there are spectacular views of the sea and the white cliffs of Tennyson Down from the farm.

Lovely detached bungalow, in a quiet lane, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Wonderful walking and cycling area with bridleways and footpaths at the end of the lane leading up on to Brighstone Downs. From here the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the Island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The cottage is only 1/2 mile from the village centre with public house for meals, bistro/tea shop, excellent village shop with local produce. The quiet beaches of Brighstone Bay are also nearby.

Wagtails is situated in a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone. This lovely detached bungalow has recently been refurbished to a very high standard with meticulous attention to detail. It provides very attractive and comfortable facilities for four people with two bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms. The property has attractive front and rear garden areas with care having been taken to provide guests with a variety of areas for relaxation, including a cosy summerhouse. In addition, a stunning raised terrace provides the perfect sunny setting for al fresco dining.

The delightful Methodist chapel was built in the 1800’s and has been converted into a wonderful cottage. It stands on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the island. The village is renowned for its lovely church, thatched cottages, village shops, National Trust shop, public house and teashop. Visitors can walk directly from the cottage and join footpaths to the beach at Chilton Chine (2 miles).

This pretty thatched cottage, with leaded light windows, stands in beautiful countryside, only a few minutes walk from Calbourne Water Mill. The cottage was designed by John Nash as a lodge for Westover Manor and is a Grade II listed building with wonderful grounds of 3.5 acres. This is a lovely walking area with footpaths very close to the cottage leading to Newbridge, Calbourne and to the downs above Brighstone, linking with the renowned Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay.

Lovely farm cottage with delightful rural views across lakes to the downs beyond. The picturesque farm is in a wonderful cycling and walking area with direct access to a network of cycle paths, footpaths and bridleways, and private access to the Stenbury Trail which ultimately extends from Cowes to the coast at Ventnor. The Tennyson Trail extending to the western tip of the island is also easily reached. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care to a high standard and offers charming accommodation in beautiful surroundings with ducks, swans and a huge variety of other wildlife including red squirrels as constant visitors. Horses are kept on the farm and trout fishing can be arranged. The central location of the cottage makes it an ideal base for touring the island.

Milton Stables is situated on the south west side of the Isle of Wight within a 5 minute walk of Freshwater Bay, Tennyson Down and the coastal path which is particularly dramatic on its route westwards to The Needles. It is a detached property which has been converted from original stables - renovated with care to provide spacious, light and comfortable accommodation for 4 people with a large plan open plan living room with doors opening onto the courtyard garden; a fitted kitchen, and wet room. There is a ground floor twin room and upstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a small sitting room. The cottage has an enclosed courtyard which is fenced and gated.

This is a picturesque thatched cottage in the peaceful village of Newbridge, at the heart of rural West Wight. It is situated in a country lane leading to a farm track and there is little passing traffic. Local footpaths lead to Shalfleet Creek and to the Tennyson Trail, from which there are spectacular views across the Solent and the South Coast.

This charming stone cottage is situated on a lovely farm close to the picturesque village of Brighstone, on the west side of the Island. The cottage is only a mile from the coast and it is a pleasant walk across the fields to the sea. Here there is a beach where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and paddling. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay are a short drive away.
This cottage is beautifully situated in Winkle Street – renowned for being one of the prettiest spots on the island with its lovely stone cottages overlooking the delightful Caul Bourne stream with its many wild flowers and clear water. This is in a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading directly from Winkle Street across fields to nearby woodland and downs. The south west coast of the Isle of Wight, with its many quiet bays and beaches, is within a 10 to 15 minute drive. The market town of Newport and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke are within a similar distance. The cottage is also close to Newtown Estuary - a National Nature Reserve which is home to countless wildfowl and rare wading birds. This is a particularly wonderful and peaceful area for walking and bird watching.This cottage is in a lovely central location for exploring the Island.
Winkle Street Cottage is built of Island stone and is over 300 years old. It is comprised of two cottages which were joined many years ago to provide one spacious property. Where possible original feature have been retained and these include the pretty windows, inglenook fireplace and lovely old beams. There are delightful views from all of the rooms of the stream and cottage garden with fields beyond. The cottage is furnished in a traditional style. It has been equipped with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for 4 people in two bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen equipped with a double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer plus a breakfast area. There is a spacious open plan sitting room with a lovely inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove -. A delightful place to relax in cooler weather. This room has a comfortable sofa and chairs, a television/Freeview/DVD/video player and there is a dining area which is a particularly pleasant spot when the sunshine streams through the open doorway. Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms – one double room and a spacious twin room.There is also a bathroom with a bath, built in shower, basin and w.c. Travel cot/high chair can be provided.. The cottage has a new electric, thermostatically controlled, heating system. Heating and electricity at no extra charge. A pay telephone and WiFi internet available.
The cottage has a large private fenced garden which is immediately across the lane and is reached via a pretty bridge across the stream. Here garden furniture is available so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine or beneath a wonderful weeping willow tree. There is a big area of lawn where visitors can relax and children can play games. Car access to Winkle Street is restricted to residents so there is very little passing traffic. A parking space is available close to the cottage. Public house within 5 minutes walk. Nearest shops are within 10 minutes drive.
Winkle Street Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Winkle Street Cottage. Winkle Street Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 17th February 2017 to 30th March 2017 and 27th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

Red Lion Public House in nearby Freshwater - The Red Lion is a traditional public house serving great food using local produce and local caught seafood. The Red Lion is in the neigbouring small town of Freshwater but their is a lovely estuary side walk which runs from Yarmouth. To walk simply follow the marked cycle route in the direction of Freshwater till you reach the small road bridge. Turn right, cross the bridge and continue for 200 yards to the pub. The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.

One dog is welcome at the cottage. Please do not allow dogs upstairs, in the bedrooms or allow them to foul the garden. Dogs should also not be left in the cottage on their own. Puppies may be admitted by agreement if they can be prevented from chewing on carpets/furniture, are house trained and crated at night. In the case of puppies a higher security bond may be requested. The garden is fenced but not dog proof, and is situated across the lane from the cottage.

The cottage is a 300 year old grade 2 listed building in a conservation area and therefore subject to the inevitable restrictions imposed by regulations. However we have tried to ensure that the cottage is arranged so that .as many people as possible are able to enjoy it's use.
At present there is no public bus service in the village, and unless your holiday is intended as being primarily a walking or cycling holiday, use of a car is essential. There are taxi services available in Yarmouth, Freshwater and Newport (all approx. 5 miles away) Please contact use if you need details. We can provide information in large print on request. Please note that we allow visitors to bring pets, and we cannot guarantee a totally fur-free environment.

The private garden is located across the road, over the wooden pedestrian bridge. Non-slip netting is installed on the bridge for safety in wet weather. Garden is grassed with the exception of the paved patio area. The grass is uneven in places.
