Dairy Cottage is an attractive stone cottage enjoying rural views and with glimpses of Carisbrooke Castle from the master bedroom. The castle is within a 15 minute walk. The cottage is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and within a short drive of the coast in any direction. Local walks follow the top of the Downs as far as Freshwater and Alum Bay and enjoy wonderful views all along the way.

This lovely stone cottage is situated in the small rural hamlet of Bowcombe which stands between the pretty village of Shorwell and Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

In the centre of the small rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island and is only a 5 minute drive from a quiet beach at Brighstone. The cottage stands adjacent to a beautiful 11th century church. A pleasant old public house with a large duck pond is within a 1 minute walk and Shorwell still has its own village shop. There are a variety of small sandy coves within a short drive where visitors can enjoy swimming, paddling, boating and fishing.

This farmhouse is attractively situated on the edge of the pretty village of Shalfleet towards the West side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage adjoins the grounds of Shalfleet Manor House and has its own private entrance into a quiet lane which leads from the village to a footpath on Newtown Creek. This estuary, which is only a few minutes walk from the farmhouse, is part of a National Nature Reserve and is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Several secluded bays and beaches are within 10 minutes drive.

This lovely thatched cottage dates back to 1701. It is full of character with exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces. It stands in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' with views of Brighstone Downs. The pretty village of Brighstone village with its tea rooms, public house and village shops is within a 15 minute stroll. The cottage is only a mile from the coast and here there are several quiet sandy coves.

It provides very attractive accommodation with a large garden for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. An ideal base for touring the Isle of Wight. The cottage is in a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage. The south west coast of the Island, with its many quiet bays, is within a 10 minute drive and the market town of Newport, with its medieval castle, is also nearby. Ferries can be booked at greatly reduced prices.

Lovely traditional thatched cottage situated within a few minutes walk of the centre of the lovely village of Brighstone on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. The village is renowned for its pretty centre with several thatched stone cottages. There is also a public house and a small bistro/tea shop. The beach at Brighstone is within a pleasant 15 minute walk. This is also a wonderful walking and cycling area with easy access to the coastal path plus the beautiful downs which link Carisbrooke and The Needles on the western tip of the Isle of Wight.
This picturesque Grade II listed thatched cottage dates back to 1676 and is attractively situated at the end of a quiet lane with a lovely ford and footpath leading to the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. Located in the oldest part of Carisbrooke village which is a conservation area lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The castle is only 5 minutes walk away and can be glimpsed from the garden and main bedrooms. This is a wonderful walking area, as within 5 minutes walk of the cottage visitors can join the famous Tennyson Trail which follows the downs westerly towards The Needles. A popular Italian restaurant, family public house for meals and a local shop are all within 3 minutes walk. The market town of Newport, with its splendid variety of shops and restaurants is within a 20 minute stroll. The sandy beaches of the seaside towns of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are within a 15 - 20 minute drive.
This pretty cottage, favoured by local artists and featured in postcards and books from English Heritage, has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. The charming thatched porch opens into a sitting room with large comfortable sofas, a lovely real gas flame fire, hi-fi system and wide screen digital television/DVD/video. There is a newly equipped fitted kitchen with oak units and granite tops, electric double oven and hob, combination microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer plus a dining area overlooking the garden; plus a second sitting room into which the dining table can be moved to provide a separate dining area; a utility room with a washer dryer and a well equipped shower room with a built in shower, basin and W.C. Stairs lead up to two pretty double bedrooms, one of which has a king size four poster bed, plus a newly refitted bathroom with a bath, hand shower, overhead shower, basin and W.C. Additional stairs lead up to the second floor where there is an attractive twin bedroom accessed through a single bedroom with digital television/DVD/video; these rooms prove popular as a den for children. A good selection of DVD’s, videos, books, children’s games and stair gates are provided. Free WiFi internet is available at this cottage. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. The cottage is centrally heated and the electricity and heating are provided at no extra charge.
Virginia Cottage has a pretty and spacious south facing fenced garden enjoying sun virtually all day with garden furniture and a barbecue. One large or two small cars can be parked in the drive at the side of the cottage. Buses to many parts of the Island within 3 minutes walk.
Virginia Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Virginia Cottage. Virginia Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 11:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 28th October 2017 to 16th November 2017 and 27th October 2018 to 15th November 2018.

March 2017 Virginia Cottage is an impressive Grade II listed property which is presented and maintained to a superior standard. The Four Star Self-catering rating has been comfortably retained as the overall score continues to be placed within the higher Five Star level as do the majority of the other areas; which ensures the retention of the Gold Award. The property was pristinely presented throughout; great care has been taken in the final detailing and attention to all the high and low areas. All surfaces and fittings were dust settlement free. Carpeted flooring thoroughly vacuumed with the hard wearing flooring being maintained to a very high standard of cleanliness. A delightful Grade II listed thatched cottage, full of character and charm. Positive impressions are gained upon arrival from the quality and presentation of the thatched roof and exposed stone detailing, along with the generous sized mature gardens and peaceful location. Located in the oldest part of Carisbrooke village which is a conservation area lying within An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a short walk to Carrisbrooke Castle and all the local attractions and amenities. Exacting cleanliness standards continue to be implemented. A smart blocked paved car parking area now in place.
The villages of Carisbrooke is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and is best know for the remains of Carisbrooke Castle which sits on the hill above the village. A small shop and a post office can be found in the village as well as a couple of public houses. A footpath runs from just outside the village all the way to Alum Bay in the far West of the Island.

Tennyson Trail - The Tennyson Trail starts on the edge of Carisbrooke and runs all the way along the Downs to Freshwater Bay and then up to The Needles and Alum Bay. This spectacular trail is a substantial walk but there is a bus back to Carisbrooke from Freshwater and Alum Bay. Tennyson Trail
The centre of the Isle of Wight is best known for its historic monuments and beautiful countryside. The hills in this area are great for walking and exploring and paths fan out across the Isle of Wight. Carisbrooke, Bowcombe and Blackwater are found to the South and West of Newport. These small villages and Hamlets have unique access to all areas of the Isle of Wight and the sea is always less than 20 - 25mins away by car.

Virginia Cottage is a Grade II listed thatched holiday cottage located in a quiet lane with local shop, post office, bus stops and pub/restaurants within three minutes walk. The main town of Newport is within twenty minutes walk. The cottage has three floors. The ground floor has toilet and shower facilities, the main bathroom is on the first floor.
Although modern comforts and appliances are provided throughout, it should be noted that parts of the cottage date back to 1676 and hence sloping floors, narrow stairs and old fixtures and fittings must be preserved for Listed Building purposes. However, these features also give the cottage a unique charm and character
