This pretty thatched cottage, with leaded light windows, stands in beautiful countryside, only a few minutes walk from Calbourne Water Mill. The cottage was designed by John Nash as a lodge for Westover Manor and is a Grade II listed building with wonderful grounds of 3.5 acres. This is a lovely walking area with footpaths very close to the cottage leading to Newbridge, Calbourne and to the downs above Brighstone, linking with the renowned Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay.

The delightful Methodist chapel was built in the 1800’s and has been converted into a wonderful cottage. It stands on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the island. The village is renowned for its lovely church, thatched cottages, village shops, National Trust shop, public house and teashop. Visitors can walk directly from the cottage and join footpaths to the beach at Chilton Chine (2 miles).

This charming stone cottage is situated on a lovely farm close to the picturesque village of Brighstone, on the west side of the Island. The cottage is only a mile from the coast and it is a pleasant walk across the fields to the sea. Here there is a beach where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and paddling. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay are a short drive away.

This is a picturesque thatched cottage in the peaceful village of Newbridge, at the heart of rural West Wight. It is situated in a country lane leading to a farm track and there is little passing traffic. Local footpaths lead to Shalfleet Creek and to the Tennyson Trail, from which there are spectacular views across the Solent and the South Coast.

This cottage is beautifully situated in Winkle Street – renowned for being one of the prettiest spots on the island with its lovely stone cottages overlooking a stream. The cottage is in a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage. The south west coast of the Island, with its many quiet bays, is within a 10 minute drive and the market town of Newport, with its medieval castle, is also nearby. A lovely central location for exploring the Island.

Wagtails is situated in a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone. This lovely detached bungalow has recently been refurbished to a very high standard with meticulous attention to detail. It provides very attractive and comfortable facilities for four people with two bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms. The property has attractive front and rear garden areas with care having been taken to provide guests with a variety of areas for relaxation, including a cosy summerhouse. In addition, a stunning raised terrace provides the perfect sunny setting for al fresco dining.

The Granary is a charming cottage, which has been carefully converted from the wing of a large ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in lovely peaceful West Wight countryside. This is a lovely walking area and is not too far from the coastal path.
This lovely detached property is situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone and is just over a mile from the coast. Brighstone is renowned for its 12th Century church, its centre of picturesque thatched cottages, a tea shop/bistro, a public house for meals and a general stores which specialises in local produce. There are a variety of small quiet coves on this south west coast of the Isle of Wight - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beaches of Brighstone and Brook are particularly attractive and unspoilt. Further along the coast is an area popular with surfers and Compton Bay is renowned for its fossils. This also a wonderful walking and cycling area with a bridleway, within a few minutes walk, linking with paths joining the Tennyson Trail which extends from the centre of the Isle of Wight to the Needles on the western tip. The nearby coastal path is amongst the most beautiful and dramatic to be found in England and most of this coastline is protected by the National Trust. Nearby there are also the National Trust gardens of Mottistone Manor.
Strawberry cottage is a delightful detached bungalow which has recently been renovated to a high standard. It has been furnished and equipped with care to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation for 4 people. It is in a quiet lane with little traffic as it is a no through road. The property stands on raised ground and from the living room there are views of Brighstone Downs and glimpses of the cliffs above Blackgang Chine. The living room is a particularly spacious and sunny room with a large picture window extending along most of its length. It is furnished with deep sofas, a flat screen television with Freeview/DVD. There is also an attractive dining area; a well equipped fitted kitchen with an electric cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, slim-line dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer; a charming double bedroom with a king size bed, Smart television/Freeview/DVD, fitted wardrobe and garden views; a lovely twin bedroom with a fitted wardrobe; a bathroom with bath, separate built in shower, basin and WC; a cloakroom with WC and basin; a tiled and glazed porch for the hanging of outdoor clothes. Strawberry Cottage is doubled glazed and well heated with a thermostatically controlled electric heating system. All heating and electricity provided without extra charge. Mini hifi/cd player with Bluetooth, DAB radio provided. WiFi internet available without extra charge and telephone for free anytime calls to UK land lines. Travel cot/high chair can be provided.
Strawberry Cottage has a fenced and gated rear garden with a rose border, a large lawn and a patio with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. At the front there is a pretty garden with wildflowers, shrubs and a perennial border plus a private drive where two cars can be parked. Eight steps with a hand rail lead up to the front door. Bicycles and surfboards can be stored in the lockable garage. Regular bus service within a few minutes walk.
Strawberry Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Strawberry Cottage. Strawberry Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 18th February 2017 to 30th March 2017 and 28th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

The pretty village of Brighstone has a great mix of thatched and period housing. The village centre is a vibrant place with a couple of shops and a pub and a restaurant. The Brighstone is by the sea and on the coast there is a long shingle and sand beach which extends up and down the west coast.

Brighstone Beach - The sand and shingle beach at Brighstone is a short walk from the village centre. The West coast beach extends all the way to Blackgang in the South and Freshwater in the West. Find out more about Brighstone Beach.
Walking the Downs - Footpaths from Brighstone take you up onto the Down from which you can take a hill top walk to Freshwater Bay to the West or Carisbrooke to the East. The Down affords wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and some vantage points allow you to see almost the whole of the West side of the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, one can follow the coastal path from Brighstone and enjoy the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay which takes in Brook and Freshwater Bay.
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.

Two dogs are welcome. The back garden is fenced and gated. Pets are not permitted on the furniture, in the bedrooms or on any of the throws in the cottage. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date. We regret that cats are not permitted.
