It is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in a peaceful hamlet. This is a fantastic walking area with the coastal path heading westwards along a dramatic and unspoilt area of coastline all the way to the Needles. Alternatively, visitors may enjoy downland walks or following the course of the River Yar from Niton to Bembridge. The seaside resort of Ventnor is within a ten-minute drive and there is easy access to a number of sandy bays on the west side of the island. The renowned Buddle Inn is within a few minutes walk of the cottage and a ten-minute stroll brings you to the main village of Niton where there is a general store, post office and another public house.

St Catherine's Cottage has been in the same family for three generations and enjoys an exceptional position with views across the picturesque garden to the sea. There are sea views from several of the rooms including the sitting room, dining room and two main bedrooms. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in a separate utility area. Stairs lead up to three bedrooms; a spacious double room with a king-size bed and sea views, a double/twin room with a 6 ft zip and link bed which also enjoys sea views, plus a twin room. There is a bathroom with a bath with hand held shower attachment, basin and WC. and a separate shower room with a built in shower, basin and WC. The cottage is warmed with wall mounted electric radiators. Heating and electricity is provided at no extra charge. A travel cot and high chair can be made available. Wifi internet connection is also available.

The cottage has a secluded, peaceful garden which is south facing. There is a patio area immediately outside the cottage with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. The garden has areas of lawn, well established shrubberies and at the far end there is a seating area with views across the fields to the sea, with the wonderful aspect of St Catherine's lighthouse to one side. Cars can be parked in the quiet road outside of the property. Twelve steps lead down to the cottage entrance. A bus service is within a ten-minute walk.

From the moment we entered the cottage we were captivated by its character, its homeliness and best of all the outstanding views from its lovely lush garden out towards the undercliff and sea. An end of winter treat to lift the spirits. Have immediately booked another week as we loved it so much.
