Two Mead Cottage is one of a pair of cottages which stand in the attractive rural hamlet of Alverstone and is less than a 5 minute drive from the lovely sandy beaches of Sandown on the east coast of the Island. The cottage is located on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses, cows and a few free range chickens. The farm is in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and has a charming large pond which attracts ducks, moorhens and the occassional heron.

Mead Cottage is attractively situated on a 12 acre farm on the edge of the small rural hamlet of Alverstone in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”. This is a wonderful position for outdoor pursuits, walking, cycling, fishing and golf. In the village there are lovely water meadows and fishing ponds with hides for bird and red squirrel watching. There are many footpaths leading up on to the downs and towards the coast.

This lovely detached cottage is within a 1 minute walk of the sea. It is in a wonderful walking area with the coastal path on your door step. A tea shop/bistro here offers a delightful spot to relax and enjoy the wonderful views of the sea and coastline and a public house, renowned for its lobster is also within a short walk. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and provides very attractive accommodation for 4 with a ground floor bedroom and shower room offering easy access. Futon available in large second sitting room upstairs to sleep 2 additional guests.

Very attractively situated, beside the water, with beautiful open views to the sea across Bembridge Harbour. It is one of a small number of properties on a causeway, between the harbour and the water meadows, linking the seaside villages of St Helens and Bembridge. The centre of St. Helens, with its attractive village green, public house, shop and restaurants, is within a 5 minute walk.

This charming thatched cottage dates back more than two hundred years and has been owned by the same family for generations. It is a character cottage, which has retained many of its original features. It occupies an attractive central position in the small coastal resort of St Helens overlooking the village green where cricket is played.
Sea Whistle is only a five minute walk from the lovely sandy beach of Appley, in the seaside resort of Ryde, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. This attractive property stands along a quiet lane just outside of the town centre, and within easy reach of a variety of small shops, eateries and bars. Ryde has an award winning beach with the largest stretch of golden sands on the Isle of Wight, making it perfect for beach sports and activities as well as paddling, making sand castles and relaxing in a deck chair. Attractions include ten pin bowling, traditional amusements and a cinema, plus a lido area with swimming pool and boating lake.
This detached property is bright and airy throughout, and has recently been fully refurbished to provide very comfortable accommodation for six people across four bedrooms. Local artwork and striking mirrors hang through the property, giving Sea Whistle a calm and welcoming feel. Steps from the driveway lead up to the front porch, where there is washing machine and room to store boots, beach toys and outdoor clothes. The ground level has wooden floors laid throughout, with the porch opening into a large hall and open plan kitchen equipped with a freestanding fridge freezer and a pretty French dresser, attractive kitchen units with wooden work tops, a butler sink and microwave. There are options for cooking provided, as along with the gas fired AGA there is an AGA Companion, which comprises an electric double oven, grill and hob. An attractive dining area overlooks the garden with French doors opening on to the terrace. There is an inviting lounge, which has a large leather arm chair and footstool as well as an L-shaped leather sofa. The focal point of the room is the wood burning stove and mantel above it, which has been made of wood from the original Ryde Pier. A television with a Sky Movies and Entertainment package is also provided, along with books and games for guests to enjoy. There is also a cloakroom with WC and basin as well as a lovely ground floor double bedroom decorated to a nautical theme with a wardrobe and chest of drawers.
An open tread wooden staircase leads up to a carpeted landing and three further charming bedrooms. The master bedroom is flooded with light through the front and rear facing windows. This room comprises a king sized bed with wardrobe and chest of drawers, along with a TV with Sky. There is a twin room overlooking the garden with a chest of drawers and hanging space. The fourth bedroom is an attractive single with chest of drawers, wardrobe and views of the garden. Sea Whistle boasts an exceptionally spacious family bathroom with a freestanding bath and hand held shower, walk-in shower cubicle, WC, heated towel rail and basin. WiFi is provided without charge, and a travel cot and high chair are available on request.
Sea Whistle has an enclosed south facing garden which can be accessed via French doors from the kitchen. There is an extensive decking area with a wooden swing, as well as an outdoor dining table and six chairs where meals can be enjoyed al fresco. Please note that the decking area is not fenced and has steps down to the lawn, so care must be taken here. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn with attractive borders, giving plenty of space for children to play. There is also a small covered pond that is home to newts and frogs. Guests are welcome to enjoy pond dipping here, as long as the wildlife is returned afterwards. Sea Whistle has a gravel driveway where two cars can be parked. There is a bus stop within a one minute walk of the property, connecting to islandwide routes. Hovercraft and Fast Cat services also link Ryde with the mainland.
Sea Whistle is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Sea Whistle. Sea Whistle is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 27th March 2017 to 30th March 2017 and 27th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

The North of the Isle of Wight is a wonderfully varied location with beautiful coastal areas and historic sites. The main towns in the North are Yarmouth in the North West, Gurnard and Cowes in the centre of the Northern coastline, and Ryde in the North East. There is a sandy beach at Ryde, a shingle and sand beach at Gurnard and a long shingle beach at Cowes.
The principle town here is Cowes where a vibrant sailing scene exists and culminates in the yearly Cowes Week festival. Yarmouth also enjoys a strong connection with the sea and has its own festival of Gaffers which attracts a large number of brightly decorated boats.
The inland areas of the North side of the Isle of Wight are known for their beautiful countryside. The estuary at Wootton is an important area for birds and views across the estuary are often enhanced by a number of bird species. Footpaths and cycle tracks are numerous in the area and a great way to see the beauty on the North of the Isle of Wight.
