Mead Cottage is attractively situated on a 12 acre farm on the edge of the small rural hamlet of Alverstone in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”. This is a wonderful position for outdoor pursuits, walking, cycling, fishing and golf. In the village there are lovely water meadows and fishing ponds with hides for bird and red squirrel watching. There are many footpaths leading up on to the downs and towards the coast.

Two Mead Cottage is one of a pair of cottages which stand in the attractive rural hamlet of Alverstone and is less than a 5 minute drive from the lovely sandy beaches of Sandown on the east coast of the Island. The cottage is located on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses, cows and a few free range chickens. The farm is in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and has a charming large pond which attracts ducks, moorhens and the occassional heron.

This lovely stone cottage occupies an attractive position in a quiet country lane, on the outskirts of Godshill. It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm and the building is thought to date back to the 1700 ‘s. A small riding stables is within a few minutes walk and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

This lovely stone cottage is built of Isle of Wight Stone and has been converted from an ancient stone barn. Byre Cottage is situated in a small country lane in attractive countryside. This is a lovely walking area and footpaths lead from close to the cottage to the beautiful downs above Ventnor. Byre Cottage is only 1.5 miles from the centre of the seaside town of Shanklin with its wonderful sandy beach which is popular for swimming and paddling. The neighbouring seaside towns of Sandown and Ventnor are within a 10 minute drive.

Within 3 minutes of Shanklin's sandy beach - ideal for paddling and swimming. It is only a 2 minute walk from the lodge to the cliff path for beautiful views across Sandown Bay to the white cliff of Culver. Shanklin is a pleasant small resort on the south east coast of the Island with its own small theatre and a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. The Old Village of Shanklin has pretty thatched cottages, tea shops and public houses plus a beautiful chine, floodlit in the evening.
This traditional Victorian villa stands in the upper reaches of Ventnor, within a 15-minute walk of the beach and enjoys lovely sea views. Ventnor is a small seaside resort on the south coast of the Isle of Wight with a variety of restaurants and cafés, plus a delicatessen and a fresh fish shop. Ventnor has a lovely secluded bay where swimming, paddling, fishing and boat trips are available. The larger seaside resorts of Shanklin and Sandown are within a 10-minute drive. The house is situated in a good walking area with the coastal path linking Ventnor with Luccombe and Shanklin, plus superb nearby walks across St Boniface Down. A golf course and fishing lakes are within a 5-minute drive.
Seaview Villa has been furnished and equipped with care to provide very attractive accommodation. It is centrally-heated and double-glazed with open sea views from its south-facing rooms and garden. On the ground floor there is a lovely sitting room with sofas, armchair, a feature fireplace with a flame-effect fire, a Nintendo Wii with some games, a flat-screen television with Freeview and a DVD player; a spacious dining room with a table and chairs for six and sea views; an adjoining fitted kitchen equipped with an electric double oven and ceramic hob, a microwave, a slim-line dishwasher, a washer/dryer and fridge (small freezer in separate cupboard); a bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC.
Stairs lead up to three charming bedrooms - a master double bedroom with a king size bed, small en-suite shower room with basin and w.c.; a lovely second spacious double bedroom with a ‘king’ size bed and a sea view; a single bedroom with sea views plus a shower, basin and a small w.c. There is also a full-size trundle bed in the single room which can accommodate an additional person. A travel cot/high chair/stair gate can be provided. (The single bedroom is accessed via the second double bedroom which can be attractively curtained off for privacy. The WCs upstairs are of a small bore Saniflow design.) Wifi, central heating and electricity are provided without extra charge.
Seaview Villa has a small enclosed garden at the front and a larger gated, walled and fenced garden at the rear. There is a patio with garden furniture and a barbecue so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine and an area of lawn where games can be played. At the far end of the garden the summer house and second patio enjoy lovely sea views. Cars can usually be parked in the road in front of the villa or in nearby lanes. There is a good bus service into the centre of Ventnor within a couple of minutes’ walk. This service also extends to Godshill, Newport, Shanklin and inter-links with buses to most parts of the island plus there are easy links via a train service from Shanklin to Ryde, with fast hover craft and catamaran services to the mainland and train services to London. There are public houses, restaurants and shops within a 10 minutes’ downhill walk.
Seaview Villa is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Seaview Villa. Seaview Villa is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 17th February 2017 to 30th March 2017 and 27th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

The South of the Isle of Wight is a wonderful mix of pretty beaches and dramatic coastal landscape. The sand and shingle beach at Ventnor is one of the more popular holiday locations but hidden gems such as Bonchurch and Steephill Cove are really worth a visit too.
The coastal path around the South Coast of the Isle of Wight is a particularly beautiful stretch to explore and passes a number of attractive sites which include Steephill Cove, Orchard Bay and St Catherine's Light House at Niton Undercliff. Some of this area has been prone to erosion so you must stick to the footpath and take heed of diversions.

We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden.
