Situated on a delightful farm in one of the loveliest parts of the Isle of Wight lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A pleasant ten-minute stroll through the beech copse and across the fields leads to the centre of Godshill. This village is renowned for its church and pretty thatched cottages.

This delightful Grade II listed stone cottage has been sympathetically converted from the former stables of the nearby Apse Manor. Groom Cottage is a large property with thick stone walls, wooden beams and an attractive appearance with four gables. It nestles within an enclosed courtyard approached through a lovely arched entrance. The original building dates back to 1695, and period stone door surrounds and lintels can be seen on its south elevation. Parking available adjacent to the cottage.

Lovely farm cottage with delightful rural views across lakes to the downs beyond. The picturesque farm is in a wonderful cycling and walking area with direct access to a network of cycle paths, footpaths and bridleways, and private access to the Stenbury Trail which ultimately extends from Cowes to the coast at Ventnor. The Tennyson Trail extending to the western tip of the island is also easily reached. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care to a high standard and offers charming accommodation in beautiful surroundings with ducks, swans and a huge variety of other wildlife including red squirrels as constant visitors. Horses are kept on the farm and trout fishing can be arranged. The central location of the cottage makes it an ideal base for touring the island.

This lovely stone cottage occupies an attractive position in a quiet country lane, on the outskirts of Godshill. It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm and the building is thought to date back to the 1700 ‘s. A small riding stables is within a few minutes walk and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

This delightful detached stone cottage is located on a 400 acre arable farm which is also home to a small number of cattle and sheep. It is located on the south east side of the island within a 5 minute drive of the beach. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with footpaths leading from the cottage across the farm and joining a network of routes including the renowned Stenbury Trail which links Ventnor with the central market town of Newport and its dramatic castle of Carisbrooke. The larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 10 minute drive.

Situated in beautiful East Wight countryside on the outskirts of the attractive hamlet of Alverstone and within an easy 10 minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The property enjoys beautiful views across open countryside towards Culver Cliffs and the sea can be glimpsed in the distance.
This lovely 17th century cottage is built of Island chalk and brick and enjoys beautiful views across nearby lakes and open countryside to Ventnor Downs. It is situated on an attractive farm at Merstone. The picturesque village of Godshill is nearby and the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are within a 15 minute drive. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading along the course of the River Yar and to the nearby picturesque village of Godshill. Visitors are free to stroll across the fields of the farm and around the lovely lake in the grounds of the Manor House. There is an open grassland area near the lakes with open views where barbecues can be enjoyed.
There is a lovely nature trail on the farm so that visitors can enjoy the wonderful range of wild life – this includes herons, ducks and geese on the lakes; swallows and kestrels often nest in the barns; pheasants, foxes and badgers plus rabbits which abound. A small herd of cows is kept on the farm and there is a delightful area for children with small rare-breed bagot goats that will eat from the hand and rescued hens which are now free-range. From the cottage there is direct access across the fields to the cycle track which links Sandown to Newport and Cowes. Arrangements can be made for the storage of bikes.
Parlour Cottage has been converted with great care from an ancient barn and attention has been paid to retaining its character. It has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard in a traditional style. The front door opens into a lovely light and spacious sitting room with a dining area. This room is particularly attractive with a high vaulted beamed ceiling, several windows, and French doors opening into the rear garden. It is furnished with comfortable sofas, colour television/DVD player. An attractive staircase ascends to a delightful galleried landing which leads to a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with W.C. There are lovely views from the bedroom across the fields to the downs. On the ground floor there is a pretty twin bedroom and a separate bathroom with a bath, built in shower and W.C. The fitted kitchen is very well equipped with an electric cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer. The cottage is centrally heated. Heating and electricity at no extra cost. Folding bed/wooden cot/high chair available. WiFi internet available
Parlour Cottage has a south facing courtyard style garden with garden furniture. Cars can be parked beside the cottage and there is easy access into a larger fenced area of shared garden where children have space to play games. In the nearby farmhouse garden there are some beautiful lakes where visitors can make arrangements to fish. Access to the farm is along a gravel lane. Public house and post office within 5 minutes drive. Regular bus service 15 minutes walk. Cottage arrival time 4 p.m. Departure 11.30.

Merstone is a beautiful rural area just outside of Godshill on the East of the Isle of Wight. The open countryside around Merstone is criss crossed with footpaths and cycle paths which makes it ideal those looking to explore the Isle of Wight.

There is a cycle track and wide walking routes running past Merstone. It was constructed on the old railway track and runs from Shanklin to Newport. There is also a footpath from Merstone to Godshill which is within a 25min walk.
