This picturesque thatched cottage is very attractively situated, in peaceful surroundings overlooking Pound Green, on the outskirts of Freshwater. It is within a 15 minute walk of Freshwater Bay and Totland Bay. The sandy cove of Colwell is also nearby. The centre of Freshwater is five minutes walk away. Here there are a small number of shops, a public house for meals and a leisure club with indoor swimming pool.

This lovely stone barn is attractively situated on the outer edge of Wootton adjoining delightful countryside and less than a mile from the coast. The sandy beaches of the seaside resort of Ryde are within a 10 minute drive. Wootton has several small shops, a hotel and three public houses, two of which have restaurants overlooking the attractive estuary.

This spacious house is splendidly situated immediately beside the sea. A stroll across the lawn leads to the beach where swimming, beach sports and boating can be enjoyed. A yacht can also be privately moored. There are spectacular, and panoramic sea views from the main rooms in the house and from the garden. Bonny Blink is in the quiet seaside village of Seaview on the east side of the Isle of Wight, commanding views across the Solent and the open sea. The pleasant village centre is less than a five minute walk away. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.

The property has a wonderful country house feel with a delightful sitting room with open fire and french doors opening on to a veranda. There is also a lovely dining room with french doors opening on to the terrace; a well equipped fitted kitchen; a separate utility area; 5 delightful bedrooms - two double bedrooms, a twin room, a single room and a bunk bedroom; a family bathroom with bath basin and WC; a family shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC plus a cloakroom with WC and basin on the ground floor. Monkspath is a delightful detached house with a private heated swimming pool set in extensive private grounds and with coastal views from all the front facing rooms. It is very attractively situated in the small rural hamlet of Limerstone and is only 1.5 miles from the south west coast of the Isle of Wight. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and the house is within a mile of the small picturesque village of Brighstone with its beautiful church, thatched cottages, tea shop/bistro, general stores and public house. There is a quiet beach at Brighstone which is good for paddling and swimming and several small sandy coves are within a short drive. This is also a wonderful walking area with footpaths following the downs at the rear of Monkspath on the Worsley / Tennyson Trail towards the Needles. The house is within a 15 minute drive of the market town of Newport and the attractive coastal town of Yarmouth, renowned for its sailing.
Monkspath is a lovely, secluded property protected by high hedging and large gates which open into the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. There are views across fields to the sea at the front of the house and there are fields and downs at the rear. The house has been furnished and equipped with great care to provide delightful, luxurious accommodation. It is centrally heated and there are fitted carpets throughout most of the property. It sleeps 11 plus a baby in 5 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a light and spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas, wide screen LCD television / Freesat / DVD and a wood burning stove which provides a pleasant focus for the room during colder weather; a second small attractive sitting room with a sofa, a second LCD television / Freesat /DVD; an elegant dining room with a table and chairs which will comfortably seat 12 people. French doors open from here into a small conservatory where visitors can relax.
The kitchen is a light, spacious well equipped room with attractive fitted units, a range style cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher. There is also an AGA which will be switched on in the colder months and a central table for informal meals. A washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in the adjoining utility room. There are also two separate W.Cs with basins on the ground floor. Stairs lead up to three lovely double bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are very spacious with King Size beds and have en-suite shower rooms with W.Cs. These rooms both have good views across the fields to the sea and one has a balcony. The third double bedroom overlooks the garden and has an en-suite bathroom with hand shower, basin and W.C. The fourth bedroom is also a lovely pleasant room with a full size bunk bed. There is a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and basin plus a separate W.C. A further small flight of stairs leads up to a spacious triple room with a connecting door into the playroom. Here there is a large dolls house and a wonderful colourful array of soft toys, books and games. From the playroom there are even more spectacular coastal views. A travel cot/high chair can be provided. There is a telephone and WiFi.
In the secluded gardens Monkspath has a delightful heated swimming pool and there is teak garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue. The heated pool is available from mid May to the end of October. At other times the availability of the pool is dependent on the weather. There is a cover available that will prevent a small child from falling in the pool. There is also a large trampoline (with safety nets) and a triple swing.
The gardens are fenced and there are large lawns and shrubberies at the front and side of the house. At the rear the garden adjoins a large paddock which extends towards the downs and which visitors are welcome to explore. Four cars can be parked in the drive. A rural bus service is within a few minutes walk.
For Christmas & New Year the house looks wonderful. The reception rooms are festively decorated and there is a Christmas Tree and lovely table decorations for special meals.
Monks Path is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Monks Path. Monks Path is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00.

The pretty village of Brighstone has a great mix of thatched and period housing. The village centre is a vibrant place with a couple of shops and a pub and a restaurant. The Brighstone is by the sea and on the coast there is a long shingle and sand beach which extends up and down the west coast.

Brighstone Beach - The sand and shingle beach at Brighstone is a short walk from the village centre. The West coast beach extends all the way to Blackgang in the South and Freshwater in the West. Find out more about Brighstone Beach.
Walking the Downs - Footpaths from Brighstone take you up onto the Down from which you can take a hill top walk to Freshwater Bay to the West or Carisbrooke to the East. The Down affords wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and some vantage points allow you to see almost the whole of the West side of the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, one can follow the coastal path from Brighstone and enjoy the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay which takes in Brook and Freshwater Bay.
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
