This lovely stone cottage nestles in beautiful countryside on an attractive farm on the East side of the Island. There are wonderful open views from the cottage and garden across fields towards the downs. The Brew House is at the end of a country lane with no passing traffic. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading along the course of the River Yar and to the nearby picturesque village of Godshill. There is direct access across the fields to the cycle track which links Sandown to Newport and Cowes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are only a 15 minute drive away. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.

The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferry bookings can be made at greatly discounted prices.

Lovely traditional cottage with beautiful rural views, across fields to nearby downs, from all of the main rooms in the cottage. It is delightfully situated on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area. Footpaths can be followed across beautiful countryside directly from the cottage and these is easy access to a cycle path which links the seaside resort of Sandown with the pretty villages of Newchurch and Godshill and then extends to the market town of Newport with its lovely medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The cottage is within a 10 minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The accommodation is all on one level and the cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. A nearby public house serves excellent food.

Mead Cottage is attractively situated on a 12 acre farm on the edge of the small rural hamlet of Alverstone in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”. This is a wonderful position for outdoor pursuits, walking, cycling, fishing and golf. In the village there are lovely water meadows and fishing ponds with hides for bird and red squirrel watching. There are many footpaths leading up on to the downs and towards the coast.

Two Mead Cottage is one of a pair of cottages which stand in the attractive rural hamlet of Alverstone and is less than a 5 minute drive from the lovely sandy beaches of Sandown on the east coast of the Island. The cottage is located on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses, cows and a few free range chickens. The farm is in “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” and has a charming large pond which attracts ducks, moorhens and the occassional heron.

Within 3 minutes of Shanklin's sandy beach - ideal for paddling and swimming. It is only a 2 minute walk from the lodge to the cliff path for beautiful views across Sandown Bay to the white cliff of Culver. Shanklin is a pleasant small resort on the south east coast of the Island with its own small theatre and a variety of interesting shops and restaurants. The Old Village of Shanklin has pretty thatched cottages, tea shops and public houses plus a beautiful chine, floodlit in the evening.
Meadow End is situated in beautiful East Wight countryside on the outskirts of the attractive hamlet of Alverstone and within an easy 10 minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The property enjoys beautiful views across open countryside towards Culver Cliffs and the sea can be glimpsed in the distance. This is a wonderful walking area and visitors can stroll directly from the cottage to access a network of footpaths leading to the downs, riverside walks and the sea. There is also a pleasant walk into the nearby village of Newchurch which has a good public house for meals. Visitors are within a few minutes ride of a cycle path which connects with the centre of the Island and the coast. In the surrounding garden and fields of the cottage visitors can enjoy seeing a wide range of birds, plus red squirrels, badgers and foxes. A bird hide is within a 10 minute walk.
This is the spacious self contained wing of a lovely large cottage, built in 2009. It has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard and provides very attractive and comfortable accommodation for a couple or family in two bedrooms. The open plan design gives a lovely feeling of light and space. On the ground floor there is a wonderful spacious kitchen equipped to the highest standards with lovely units, a granite style top, a large range style cooker, microwave, dishwasher and an American style fridge freezer. (A washing machine in provided in a separate utility area). There is an adjoining dining area with French doors opening into the garden. Stairs lead up to a pleasant sitting room with a sofa and chairs plus a television/Freesat/DVD. French doors open from here onto a lovely balcony with open views across the fields to Culver Cliffs. This is wonderful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or drink in the evening. To access the bedrooms three stairs lead from the dining area to two pretty bedrooms – a lovely spacious double room with a double bed, large windows and an en-suite bathroom equipped with a bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c. plus an attractive twin room. Access to the bathroom is via the double bedroom. The cottage is double glazed and centrally heated. All heating and electricity at no extra charge. Travel cot and high chair can be provided. WiFi internet connection available.
At the side of the cottage there is a secluded private patio and an area of lawn with a small pond where visitors can relax and enjoy meals in the sunshine. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. Visitors are welcome to use the larger cottage garden if they wish. The one acre garden extends into a small area of woodland. Children do need to be very closely supervised as there are two ponds in the garden. Public house within 20 minutes walk. General stores 1.5 miles. Rural bus service 5 minutes walk. Two cars can be parked in the drive. The property is accessed via a short gravel lane.

Meadow End Wing is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 25th September 2017 to 28th September 2017 and 30th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

Alverstone stands just inland of Sandown on the East of the Isle of Wight. There are good connections with the coast and Sandown and Shanklin as well as Bembridge, Seaview and St Helens are all within a short drive. Alverstone was once a stop along the Sandown to Newport railway and now this route has been turned into a cycle track and footpath. The track runs across the local nature reserve of Alverstone Mead and the SSSI of Alverstone Marshes. These sites are excellent for bird watching and a chance to see a rich variety of wildlife. Sandown to Newchurch Cycle Track - A flat cycle track runs from Sandown to Newchurch and passes close by. You can easily cycle to the beach at Sandown or head inland towards Newport where there are routes peeling off to Godshill, Wroxall, Cowes and most of the rest of the Isle of Wight. Two dogs are welcome and the back garden is hedged and fenced. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms. As long as paws are clean, dogs are permitted upstairs in the living area. Dogs can be left unattended for short periods of time in the cottage as long as they are not noisy or destructive. We also ask owners not to allow their dogs to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date. We regret that no cats are permitted.
