Marine Villa stands on the cliff top and enjoys panoramic sea views across Freshwater Bay. Visitors can stroll for a swim in the sea in just a few minutes. This is a semi rural area designated as ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and is in one of the most dramatically beautiful areas of coastline on the island. It is also a wonderful walking area and visitors can directly access the coastal path from the garden of the house and join the Tennyson Trail towards the Needles or walk inland along the downs to Carisbrooke with its wonderful medieval castle. Freshwater Golf Course is within a few minutes walk of the house and there are several small bays within a 10 minute drive. Surfing, boating, fishing and paragliding can be enjoyed nearby. There is also easy access to a network of cycle routes which cross the island.
Marine Villa is an exceptional property with wonderful open sea views from most of its main rooms. The house has recently been renovated to provide light and spacious accommodation for 7/8 people in 4 bedrooms. The villa is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care in a modern style. The accommodation is on 3 levels but with only a few steps between the different floors. The front door opens directly into a large open plan living area with glass doors extending along most of one wall and windows on three sides so that full advantage can be taken of the views. The doors fold back to give open access to the terrace. A modern dining table which comfortably seats 9 occupies a central position in the room. There is a lovely fitted kitchen with a range style cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer, plus a central work station. A separate utility area houses the washing machine and tumble dryer. Also on this level is a pleasant double bedroom with sea views. Steps lead down to a sitting room which enjoys wonderful sea views with a sofa and chairs, large desk and open log fire. Patio doors open directly from this room on to another terrace. On this level there is also a double bedroom and a separate shower room with a walk in shower, basin and w.c. and a play room with a sofa, television and range of toys. On the upper level there is a lovely spacious bedroom with a double bed and doors can be opened to enjoy the sound of the sea and the wonderful view from the ‘Juliet balcony’. This room also has a delightfully luxurious en-suite bathroom with a large bath and walk in shower plus basin and w.c. In addition this level has a spacious single bedroom with an attractive sleigh style wooden bed. An extra folding bed can be provided to accommodate children. Large wooden cot in the single bedroom plus a high chair available. Central heating/electricity at no extra charge.
Marine Villa has delightful terraces at the rear of the property with wonderful panoramic views across the bay. Garden furniture, a parasol and a barbecue are available so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Two steps descend to a large lawn where games can be played and visitors can relax. The rear garden is fenced and a gate opens to allow access to the cliff path. Children do need to be closely supervised due to the proximity of the cliff edge. There is a further area of garden at the front of the property with a drive and parking for 4 cars.
Public house, and tea shop within 5 minutes walk. A good range of public houses’ and restaurants can be found in the small town of Freshwater and in the nearby sailing centre of Yarmouth. Supermarket and a range of small shops within a 5 minutes drive. Bus service within 5 minutes walk. Nearby places to visit include Alum Bay Park, Blackgang Adventure Park, Yarmouth Castle and Carisbrooke Castle.
The small town of Freshwater is located on the West of the Isle of Wight. The town has an inland part with shops and a seaside part called Freshwater Bay. The bay at Freshwater is known for its stunning beauty and because it makes a pleasant place to enjoy the sea and have a swim.
Freshwater has excellent access to the other coastal location on the West of the Isle of Wight and walks run along the coast in both directions. A walk to The Needles at Alum Bay is a pleasant way to see the dramatic coast. It is also possible to walk to Carisbrooke at the heart of the Island along the Tennyson Downs.
On the North West of Freshwater (near the Estuary) you will find the Red Lion Public House which is popular with Islanders due to the quality of their food. A traditional pub feel with a friendly atmosphere makes it a very enjoyable place to enjoy lunch or stop off at on a walk around the Western side of the Isle of Wight.

Highdown Inn, Alum Bay - Attractive little public house serving good food. Located along the Freshwater Bay to Alum Bay back road and can be nicely incorporated into a walk between Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay via the coastal path. Highdown Inn Website.
The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
Inland are the Tennyson Downs which connect Alum Bay to Carisbrooke. The Downs make a lovely walk even if you choose only to do a short part of them. Cycle paths and footpaths are especially nermourous in this part of the Isle of Wight. View more West Isle of Wight Cottages
