The cottage is within a 2 minute walk of the delightful beach at Brook where visitors can paddle and swim. This is ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ with much of the area protected by the National Trust.

This charming, Grade II listed cottage, is only a short drive from the sandy beach of Shanklin. It is peacefully situated in a quiet leafy hamlet in beautiful countryside, only 1.5 miles from the centre of the small seaside resort of Shanklin, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. Shanklin has a lovely sandy beach which gently slopes into the water, a variety of restaurants, small shops and traditional seaside entertainments. The cottage has a lovely large sunny garden and is in a wonderful cycling and walking area. Footpaths and bridleways lead from close to the cottage to the coast at Shanklin and there is a particularly delightful walk across fields and downs to Ventnor offering panoramic views across Sandown Bay. The pretty village of Godshill is within a 5 minute drive and here there is good public house for meals, teashops and a hill top church.

It is in a delightful walking area with easy access to Brighstone Forest and wonderful coastal walks plus the Tennyson Trail. The harbour of Yarmouth, with is sailing boats and excellent restaurants, is within a 10 minute drive. Also nearby are the sandy bays of Totland and Colwell. The cottage has 4 bedrooms (one on the ground floor) - two of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and there is a family bathroom plus a cloakroom with WC and basin. Knighton Gorges occupies a wonderful position nestled in lovely East Wight countryside, in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. It has uninterrupted views across the beautiful Yar Valley to the Ventnor Downs. The house offers an oasis of peace, being a detached property with its own two acres of grounds and no near neighbours. The property dates back to the 17th century and used to form part of the buildings of the famous Manor House which once occupied the site.
This beautiful traditional early Victorian villa dates back to 1830 and stands in a lovely secluded position within a 10 minute walk of the sea on the south east coast of the Isle of Wight. From here it is a pleasant stroll along the promenade, beside the sea, to the beach of the small traditional resort of Ventnor. Local fishermen sell fresh crab, lobster and a variety of other fish. The public house, wine bar and two or three restaurants here all have lovely views across the bay. A zig-zag route leads up into the town centre where there are shops and more places to eat. Little Orchard provides an excellent base to explore the island either on foot or by bicycle making use of the many well signposted paths. The attractive coastal path can be followed westwards to Steephill Cove and Ventnor Botanical gardens or eastwards to Shanklin. It is also possible to walk up to St Boniface Down from the villa with wonderful views across the island. The larger resorts of Shanklin and Sandown are within a 10 minute drive.
Little Orchard is nestled in a wonderful peaceful spot in a quiet lane. Bonchurch is renowned for its mild climate. The villa is south facing and the garden is protected by some beautiful trees. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and with great care to provide delightful accommodation with an ‘English Country House’ feel. On the ground floor there is a charming sitting room with deep sofas, an open fire which provides a lovely central focus for the room and French doors which open on to the front terrace with views across the garden; a lovely spacious dining room which again has French doors opening on to the terrace and views across the garden; a superb kitchen with fitted units; granite work tops, a stainless steel sink electric oven and hob, integral microwave, and fridge/freezer; a large adjoining utility area with a second sink, an extra freezer and an area for hanging coats and keeping boots; a cloakroom with a w.c. and basin; a small second sitting room with a sofa and chairs plus a large flat screen television with Freeview/DVD player.
There is a pretty single bedroom on the ground floor with a wardrobe and dressing table. Stairs lead up from the spacious hallway to four delightful bedrooms – two spacious south facing double bedrooms, one with a super king bed and the other with a king size bed – both rooms have wardrobes and views across the garden with glimpses of the sea through the trees; a lovely twin bedroom; a bunk bedroom into which an extra bed can also be added; a well-equipped family bathroom with bath, hand shower, basin and WC; a family shower room with walk in shower, basin and wc; a bright laundry room with a washing machine, ironing area, clothes horse and access to a washing line. A travel cot/high chair and extra bed can be provided if required. Central heating and electricity without extra charge. Little Orchard has Wi-Fi which is provided without charge.
The villa has a beautiful south facing mature secluded garden, with large lawn and terrace. Garden furniture is provided so that visitors can relax and there is a separate area to the side of the villa with a barbecue, plus table and chairs so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Children may enjoy the trampoline provided in one corner of the garden. There is in line parking in the drive for 2-3 cars. Public house and small shop within 10 minutes’ walk. There are excellent food shops in Ventnor (within 15 minute walk). Fish, including crab and lobster, can be bought directly from the fishermen every day. There is a high quality butcher and excellent greengrocer as well as two supermarkets offering delivery. From Ventnor there are also regular bus services.
Little Orchard is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Little Orchard. Little Orchard is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from and 27th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

The historic seaside village of Bonchurch is a charming holiday location on the South of the Isle of Wight. The little village has a sand and shingle beach as well as a beautiful centre arranged around the village pond. The 11th century church in Bonchurch is well worth a visit. The coastal path from Bonchurch is a quick route into Ventnor and the walk takes around 15 to 20 minutes.

The South of the Isle of Wight is a wonderful mix of pretty beaches and dramatic coastal landscape. The sand and shingle beach at Ventnor is one of the more popular holiday locations but hidden gems such as Bonchurch and Steephill Cove are really worth a visit too.
The coastal path around the South Coast of the Isle of Wight is a particularly beautiful stretch to explore and passes a number of attractive sites which include Steephill Cove, Orchard Bay and St Catherine's Light House at Niton Undercliff. Some of this area has been prone to erosion so you must stick to the footpath and take heed of diversions.
