This lovely stone cottage occupies an attractive position in a quiet country lane, on the outskirts of Godshill. It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm and the building is thought to date back to the 1700 ‘s. A small riding stables is within a few minutes walk and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

Lavender and Lace is a delightful detached cottage, dating back to the 1700s, situated in a quiet lane in the village of Arreton. The lane leads up to a lovely 12th century church. Arreton is surrounded by beautiful countryside and this is a wonderful walking and cycling area with direct access to beautiful downland walks and a network of renowned footpaths and bridleways which cross the Island and link with the coast. The village itself is home to Arreton Barns where there are local skilled artisans, small shops with home and interior accessories, a good farm shop and a public house which is good for meals.
The cottage is also within a 5 mile drive of the sandy beach of Shanklin on the east side of the Isle of Wight. Other nearby seaside resorts include Sandown and Ventnor. It is a great location for touring the Isle of Wight as most of the Island can be accessed within a 30 minute drive.
This pretty cottage is built of stone and brick. It has been renovated with care and original features have been retained where possible. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation for 5 people in 3 charming bedrooms. On the ground floor there is an open plan sitting room with leather sofas, beside a feature fireplace, wall mounted television/Freeview; a dining area with an oak table and chairs; a well equipped fitted kitchen with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, slim-line dishwasher, refrigerator and washing machine; a pretty double bedroom and single bedroom plus a bathroom with overhead shower, basin and heated towel rail.; a separate w.c. and basin. Stairs lead up to a delightful spacious master bedroom with a double bed and en-suite w.c. and basin. A travel cot/high chair can be provided. Wall mounted electric heaters and a log effect fire, which provides an attractive central focus, keep the cottage warm. Electricity and heating provided without extra charge. WiFi internet provided.
There is a small garden at the front of the cottage with access to the quiet lane which leads up to the church. There is a large secluded garden at the rear of the cottage with several trees and a terrace beside the cottage with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Two cars can be parked in reserved spaces close to the rear garden gate from where there is a sloped access to the cottage. Regular bus service with a 2 minute walk giving access to most parts of the Isle of Wight.
Lavender & Lace has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Lavender & Lace. Lavender & Lace is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 29th September 2017 to 19th October 2017, 23rd October 2017 to 26th October 2017 and 27th October 2017 to 21st December 2017.
