This lovely stone cottage is situated in the small rural hamlet of Bowcombe which stands between the pretty village of Shorwell and Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

This picturesque Grade II listed cottage dates back to 1676 and is attractively situated at the end of a quiet lane with a lovely ford and footpath leading to the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. Located in the oldest part of Carisbrooke village which is a conservation area lying within ‘An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. The castle is only 5 minutes walk away and can be glimpsed from the garden and main bedrooms. This is a wonderful walking area as within 5 minutes walk of the cottage visitors can join the famous Tennyson Trail which follows the downs westerly towards The Needles.

Driftwood is within a three minute walk of the beach at Brighstone on the south west coast of the Isle of Wight – a quiet beach where swimming and paddling can be enjoyed. This is “An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty“ and a delightful walking area. Driftwood is attractively situated in a small courtyard of cottages. There are coastal or lovely downland views from most of the rooms. It has been furnished and equipped with care to provide lovely accommodation Wifi and telephone available. This farmhouse is attractively situated on the edge of the pretty village of Shalfleet towards the West side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage adjoins the grounds of Shalfleet Manor House and has its own private entrance into a quiet lane which leads from the village to a footpath on Newtown Creek. This estuary, which is only a few minutes walk from the farmhouse, is part of a National Nature Reserve and is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Several secluded bays and beaches are within 10 minutes drive.

Bonchurch is a peaceful village with a small shop, public house, good restaurant and two ancient churches plus a pretty pond which is home to carp, ducks and a variety of birds.

This delightful stone cottage which dates back to 1761 is built of Isle of Wight chalk and brick. Hackney Stable cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar, to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive. Ferries can be booked for you at greatly discounted prices.
Greenside is very pleasantly situated in a quiet, prestigious residential area of Cowes. There are open views from the rear of the house across the golf course which can be accessed by a gate, with the Club House only 200 metres away. It is around half a mile from the beach at Gurnard. The centre of Cowes is a 15-minute walk from the house.
Cowes is renowned for its sailing, and has an attractive centre with narrow streets. Greenside was built in 1956 to an award winning design (James Stirling) and provides attractive, light and spacious accommodation. It has a lovely sitting room with sensitive spot lighting and windows overlooking the garden and golf course. A 40 inch SMART High Definition television, surround sound along with a Blu-ray player and stereo system are provided. A telephone is available plus WiFi throughout the house. There is an attractive and spacious central day room with an open plan staircase. The spacious kitchen is equipped with good quality modern fitted units and a large new Range Cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. (A separate utility room contains the washing machine, tumble dryer and another fridge freezer). A very pleasant dining area, with an additional TV adjoins the kitchen. The house sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom, with a super king bed, a television and an en-suite shower room with w.c.; a twin bedroom and a modern well-equipped bathroom. There are two additional double bedrooms on the first floor with king size beds, sofas and each room has its own television. Upstairs there is also an additional shower room with a hand basin and W.C. This detached house is furnished to a high standard in a modern style. Central heating and electricity provided free of charge. As well as the gas central heating there is also under floor heating in both bathrooms downstairs as well as the kitchen diner.
Greenside has an attractive well-established garden that provides privacy at the front of the house. There is a lovely open sunny garden at the rear with a lawn and an area of decking, with garden furniture and a barbecue. Red squirrels can frequently be seen. Parking for at least 5 cars. Public house, with views overlooking the Solent 1/2 mile; shop: 3/4 mile. Limited bus service: 150 yards.
Greenside has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Greenside. Greenside is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 14:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from and 22nd July 2017 to 27th July 2017.

Cowes is famous sailing mecca and attracts sailors from around the world for the Cowes Week festival. Naturally there is much more to this little town and many simply come to enjoy the small shops and boutique stores as well as the vibrant atmosphere. The coast line either side of Cowes makes for pleasant walking and it is possible to walk along to Ryde to the East or Gurnard to the West. A stretch of beach towards Gurnard is an enjoyable place to enjoy a picnic and watch the yachts, fishing boats and cruise liners.

The North of the Isle of Wight is a wonderfully varied location with beautiful coastal areas and historic sites. The main towns in the North are Yarmouth in the North West, Gurnard and Cowes in the centre of the Northern coastline, and Ryde in the North East. There is a sandy beach at Ryde, a shingle and sand beach at Gurnard and a long shingle beach at Cowes.
The principle town here is Cowes where a vibrant sailing scene exists and culminates in the yearly Cowes Week festival. Yarmouth also enjoys a strong connection with the sea and has its own festival of Gaffers which attracts a large number of brightly decorated boats.
The inland areas of the North side of the Isle of Wight are known for their beautiful countryside. The estuary at Wootton is an important area for birds and views across the estuary are often enhanced by a number of bird species. Footpaths and cycle tracks are numerous in the area and a great way to see the beauty on the North of the Isle of Wight.
