This is a picturesque thatched cottage in the peaceful village of Newbridge, at the heart of rural West Wight. It is situated in a country lane leading to a farm track and there is little passing traffic. Local footpaths lead to Shalfleet Creek and to the Tennyson Trail, from which there are spectacular views across the Solent and the South Coast.

This pretty thatched cottage, with leaded light windows, stands in beautiful countryside, only a few minutes walk from Calbourne Water Mill. The cottage was designed by John Nash as a lodge for Westover Manor and is a Grade II listed building with wonderful grounds of 3.5 acres. This is a lovely walking area with footpaths very close to the cottage leading to Newbridge, Calbourne and to the downs above Brighstone, linking with the renowned Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay.

Apple House is situated on the west side of the island, within a 10 minute walk of the beach at Colwell Bay. Here swimming, paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Totland Bay is also within easy walking distance. The coastal path from this area can be followed westward to Alum Bay, Tennyson Down and The Needles - a wonderful walking area with panoramic sea views. The centre of Freshwater is also within a 10 minute walk.

Wagtails is situated in a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone. This lovely detached bungalow has recently been refurbished to a very high standard with meticulous attention to detail. It provides very attractive and comfortable facilities for four people with two bedrooms and two bath/shower rooms. The property has attractive front and rear garden areas with care having been taken to provide guests with a variety of areas for relaxation, including a cosy summerhouse. In addition, a stunning raised terrace provides the perfect sunny setting for al fresco dining.

Lovely detached bungalow, in a quiet lane, on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone, on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Wonderful walking and cycling area with bridleways and footpaths at the end of the lane leading up on to Brighstone Downs. From here the Tennyson Trail can be followed to The Needles on the western tip of the Island or inland to Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. The cottage is only 1/2 mile from the village centre with public house for meals, bistro/tea shop, excellent village shop with local produce. The quiet beaches of Brighstone Bay are also nearby.

Milton Stables is situated on the south west side of the Isle of Wight within a 5 minute walk of Freshwater Bay, Tennyson Down and the coastal path which is particularly dramatic on its route westwards to The Needles. It is a detached property which has been converted from original stables - renovated with care to provide spacious, light and comfortable accommodation for 4 people with a large plan open plan living room with doors opening onto the courtyard garden; a fitted kitchen, and wet room. There is a ground floor twin room and upstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a small sitting room. The cottage has an enclosed courtyard which is fenced and gated.

The delightful Methodist chapel was built in the 1800’s and has been converted into a wonderful cottage. It stands on the outskirts of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the island. The village is renowned for its lovely church, thatched cottages, village shops, National Trust shop, public house and teashop. Visitors can walk directly from the cottage and join footpaths to the beach at Chilton Chine (2 miles).

This charming stone cottage is situated on a lovely farm close to the picturesque village of Brighstone, on the west side of the Island. The cottage is only a mile from the coast and it is a pleasant walk across the fields to the sea. Here there is a beach where visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and paddling. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay are a short drive away.

This cottage is beautifully situated in Winkle Street – renowned for being one of the prettiest spots on the island with its lovely stone cottages overlooking a stream. The cottage is in a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage. The south west coast of the Island, with its many quiet bays, is within a 10 minute drive and the market town of Newport, with its medieval castle, is also nearby. A lovely central location for exploring the Island.
The Granary is a charming cottage, which has been carefully converted from the wing of a large ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in lovely peaceful West Wight countryside. This is a lovely walking area and is not too far from the coastal path. Within walking distance of the cottage is the delightful Newtown Harbour and Estuary - a National Nature Reserve renowned for its range of important habitats for birds.
The Granary has been equipped and furnished, with the greatest care, to a very high standard. It provides accommodation with the feeling of luxury for 4 people. There is a modern, fully fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and fridge freezer, plus a charming separate dining area. The sitting room provides a lovely place to relax with a leather sofa and chairs, television/Freeview/DVD/VCR and stereo system. There are two very charming bedrooms - one double and one twin. The well equipped modern bathroom has a bath, overhead electric power shower, basin and W.C. Storage heaters, with combined convectors, keep the cottage warm. WiFi internet is available.
The Granary has a lovely secluded fenced garden which is favoured by a variety of birds including Woodpeckers and Yellow Hammers. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The pretty village of Shalfleet is nearby and there is a pleasant public house within a 10-minute walk. A range of good restaurants and shops are in the nearby coastal town of Yarmouth, a popular sailing centre. Secluded sandy beaches are only 5 minutes drive away. Complimentary welcome hamper. Parking space for 2 cars close to the cottage. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk and the Granary is very near the ‘Island Cycle Route’. Shop 1 1/2 miles.
The Granary is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at The Granary. The Granary is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 14:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 18th February 2017 to 30th March 2017 and 28th October 2017 to 17th December 2017.

Ningwood is a small village just inland from Yarmouth and Shalfleet. This quiet rural spot has beautiful rural views over the West Wight countryside. Ningwood is within a short drive of the South West coastline where there are a number of beaches and a beautiful coastal path.
New Inn, Shalfleet - A lovely village pub with an excellent menu of local produce and locally caught seafood. A warm and friendly atmosphere with a log fire lit on cooler days makes this a lovely place to stop at as part of a walk in the area. New Inn Public House Website
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
