This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage towards the picturesque village of Godshill or the coastal village of Niton. There is also easy access to the cycle route which crosses the Island. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

The property is within a 5 minute drive of the coastal resort of Shanklin with its lovely sandy beach. The picturesque village of Godshill is also nearby - with its thatched cottages, lovely church, tea shops, public houses and restaurant. This is also a wonderful walking and cycling area.

This attractive property is situated in the grounds of Brook Lodge in beautiful South Isle of Wight countryside on the outskirts of the rural village of Whitwell. Groom Cottage is a large property with thick stone walls, wooden beams and an attractive appearance with four gables. Lovely traditional cottage with beautiful rural views, across fields to nearby downs, from all of the main rooms in the cottage. It is delightfully situated on a small 12 acre farm which is home to horses. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area. Footpaths can be followed across beautiful countryside directly from the cottage and these is easy access to a cycle path which links the seaside resort of Sandown with the pretty villages of Newchurch and Godshill and then extends to the market town of Newport with its lovely medieval castle of Carisbrooke. The cottage is within a 10 minute drive of the sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin. The accommodation is all on one level and the cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. A nearby public house serves excellent food.

Castle Cottage is very attractively situated within a pleasant ten minute stroll of the sandy beach of Ventnor and the quiet cove of Steephill. At the rear of the cottage is Ventnor Park and paths lead through these lovely gardens to the Esplanade. These gardens also adjoin the Botanical Garden of Ventnor which is renowned for its mild climate and rare plants.
This superb wing of an impressive Regency manor house is approached by a sweeping drive. The house is set amidst beautiful gardens and surrounded by wonderful countryside. It is a marvellous walking and cycling area with almost immediate access to the renowned Stenbury Trail, Yar River Trail and Isle of Wight Sunshine Trail Cycle route. It is a pleasant 10 minute stroll to Appuldurcombe House or to the centre of Godshill with its picturesque thatched cottages, wonderful church, tea shops and public houses and restaurant for meals. The sandy beaches of Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor are within a 15 minute drive.
Godshill Park House Wing provides stylish, self contained accommodations of a very high standard which is all on one level. There is a charming sitting room with deep carpets, cushions and sofas, plus a flat screen television/Freeview/DVD; a dining area in an impressive bay window overlooking the garden; a galley style fitted kitchen with oak worktops, blue and white tiles, a stainless steel sink, electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and washer dryer; a well equipped bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and WC; a splendid spacious bedroom with a king size bed, Egyptian cotton sheets, beautiful curtains and a wardrobe. An additional single bed can be made available to this room. Electric heating, travel cot/high chair and WiFi internet can be provided without extra charge. Radio and CD player available as well as books and games.
The Wing has a private secluded terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue and visitors are also welcome to use the large lawns at the front of the house. A car can be parked close to the wing or in the small garage. The garage can alternatively be used for the storage of bicycles, small dingeys and beach equipment. Regular bus service to Shanklin/Newport with interconnections to most parts of the Isle of Wight within a 5 minute walk.

Walk or Cycle to Shanklin - This walk first follows the Stenbury Trail to Wroxall and then the cycle track to Shanklin. To reach the Stenbury Trail from Godshill head out of town along the main road towards Shanklin before turning right after 200 yards onto the trail. Continue up the trail to the Freemantle Gate (photo of the Freemantle Gate) which you pass thought and follow the path which bears left across the fields towards Appuldurcombe and Wroxall. There is a wide flat cycle way that runs from Wroxall to Shanklin. The track starts below the old railway bridge in the centre of Wroxall. If you are walking there is a footpath leading from alongside the bridge to the start of the track but if you are on a bike you must cross the bridge and follow the cycle path signs. Once you are on the track it is clearly signposted all the way to Shanklin. The track runs along the old railway line and the banks on either side are lined with lush vegetation.
