This pretty cottage is attractively situated within a pleasant ten minute walk of the sandy beach of Ventnor or the quiet cove of Steephill on the south coast of the Island. Ventnor Park is at the rear of the cottage and paths lead through these gardens to the Esplanade. These gardens also adjoin the Botanical Garden of Ventnor which is renowned for its rare plants and the mild climate. The Clock House is one of a small group of cottages which have been converted from the original stables of Steephill Manor House.

The surrounding fields are home to horses which belong to a small nearby riding school. Here you are in lovely countryside but the centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

The small seaside village of Bonchurch and the larger resort of Shanklin are both within a delightful 20 to 25 minute walk. The foot paths go through some beautiful woodland and offer views of the sea at various points. The cottage overlooks an open field and is a superb spot for watching a variety of wild life including Red Squirrels, badgers and birds.

The cottage has a fenced garden with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine.
Fowlsdown Barn End stands in the hamlet of Whiteley Bank on the south east of the Isle of Wight. It is within a 5 minute drive of the coastal resort of Shanklin - with its delightful sandy beach, small shops, restaurants and amusements, plus the picturesque village of Godshill with thatched cottages, a beautiful church, gift shops, tea shops and two good public houses for meals plus a restaurant. The other coastal resorts of Sandown and Ventnor are only a 10 minute drive away as are fishing lakes, golf courses, boat trips and horse riding. This is also a good walking and cycling area with nearby footpaths to the coast and to beautiful downs.
This lovely self contained wing of Fowlsdown Farmhouse offers delightful accommodation, equipped and furnished in a traditional style to a high standard. It is largely open plan with an attractive sitting room area with a sofa, arm chair, flat screen television with Freeview and DVD player; a lovely dining area beside a window; a well equipped fitted kitchen with a tiled floor, an electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator and small freezer (24 hour washing service available); a charming bedroom with a 'king' size bed and fitted wardrobe with curtains to separate it from the living area; a tiled bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c. The accommodation is all on one level apart from an internal step near the front door and one at the entrance. Central heating and electricity without extra charge. A travel cot & high chair can be provided if required.
At the rear of Fowlsdown Barn End is a small sunny fenced courtyard with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed outside. One car can be parked in the gravel drive beside the wing. Regular bus service to Shanklin and Newport via Godshill within a 5 minute walk. Nearby places of interest include the donkey sanctuary, the medieval castle of Carisbrooke, Ventnor Botanical garden and the Roman Villa.
Fowlsdown Barn End has ground floor accommodation and is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided at a charge of £12.00 at Fowlsdown Barn End. Fowlsdown Barn End is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 14:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Shanklin is most famous for the long beach of golden sand and historic village centre. This idyllic self catering holiday location is on the East of the Isle of Wight and has excellent access to the other beaches on the East coast. There are a number of shops and restaurants in Shanklin village or down on the seafront.
Shanklin has a number of worthy attractions including Shanklin Old Town with pretty thatched buildings and number of traditional small shops selling local produce and traditional sweets. A pleasent area of gardens is also found nearby and these can be enjoyed on the way down to the sea.

We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the property and not to allow them to foul the garden.
