This lovely stone cottage is beautifully situated in a small hamlet, on the south west coast of the island, amidst a wonderful rural and coastal landscape. The cottage is within a 2 minute walk of the delightful beach at Brook where visitors can paddle and swim. This is ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ with much of the area protected by the National Trust.

This farmhouse is attractively situated on the edge of the pretty village of Shalfleet towards the West side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage adjoins the grounds of Shalfleet Manor House and has its own private entrance into a quiet lane which leads from the village to a footpath on Newtown Creek. This estuary, which is only a few minutes walk from the farmhouse, is part of a National Nature Reserve and is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Several secluded bays and beaches are within 10 minutes drive.

Good public house for meals within a 4 minute walk. Almost direct access to the the coastal path which leads eastwards to the resort of Shanklin or westwards to Ventnor and Steep Hill Cove. Bonchurch is a peaceful village with a small shop, public house, good restaurant and two ancient churches plus a pretty pond which is home to carp, ducks and a variety of birds.

This charming, Grade II listed cottage, is only a short drive from the sandy beach of Shanklin. It is peacefully situated in a quiet leafy hamlet in beautiful countryside, only 1.5 miles from the centre of the small seaside resort of Shanklin, on the east coast of the Isle of Wight. Shanklin has a lovely sandy beach which gently slopes into the water, a variety of restaurants, small shops and traditional seaside entertainments. The cottage has a lovely large sunny garden and is in a wonderful cycling and walking area. Footpaths and bridleways lead from close to the cottage to the coast at Shanklin and there is a particularly delightful walk across fields and downs to Ventnor offering panoramic views across Sandown Bay. The pretty village of Godshill is within a 5 minute drive and here there is good public house for meals, teashops and a hill top church.

In the centre of the small rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island and is only a 5 minute drive from a quiet beach at Brighstone. The cottage stands adjacent to a beautiful 11th century church. A pleasant old public house with a large duck pond is within a 1 minute walk and Shorwell still has its own village shop. There are a variety of small sandy coves within a short drive where visitors can enjoy swimming, paddling, boating and fishing.

This charming detached rural cottage is attractively situated in the parish of Shalfleet in beautiful West Wight countryside. The village centre with its 11th century church, good public house for meals, including the award winning gastro-pub The New Inn, and village shop are less than 1.5 miles. Shalfleet is renowned for its estuary which is part of a National Nature Reserve and is an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. It is home to countless wildfowl and rare wading birds. The sailing centre of Yarmouth is within a 10 minute drive and offers a variety of excellent restaurants and boutique style shops. Also nearby are the sandy bays of Totland and Colwell as well as Brook, Compton and Freshwater Bay. Field Cottage is in a wonderful walking and cycling area with easy access to Brighstone Forest and superb coastal walks plus the Hamstead Trail and Tennyson Trail which extends from the centre of the island to The Needles on the western tip.
Field Cottage is a delightful character property, skilfully converted from two cottages dating back to 1850, to form one spacious home. It can accommodate 8 people in four bedrooms with 2 en-suite shower rooms and a family bathroom. (Plus a w.c on the ground floor).
The cottage is double glazed and centrally heated. There are good views from most of the upper rooms across surrounding fields to the downs. Downstairs there is an open plan fitted kitchen equipped with a ‘Belfast sink’, AGA, double electric oven and induction hob, integral microwave, refrigerator, 3 drawer freezer, dishwasher and walk in larder; a separate utility area with a sink and washer dryer; a lovely dining room with a wood burning stove and direct access to the conservatory; a sunny sitting room with deep sofas, a ‘smart television’ with a blu-ray DVD player, an open log fire - a French door opens from here onto a south facing terrace; a lovely conservatory with sofas for relaxing and French doors which open into the garden; a charming twin bedroom and a cloakroom with a w.c. and basin.
Stairs lead up from the spacious hallway to an additional three delightful bedrooms – a master bedroom with a double bed, a 'smart' television with Blu-ray DVD player and double doors opening into a dressing room area plus an en-suite shower room with built in shower, w.c. and basin, a second lovely light and spacious double bedroom with a small en-suite shower room with built in shower, basin and w.c.; a twin bedroom; a spacious well equipped family bathroom with a large bath, a walk in shower, basin and w.c. A travel cot/high chair or folding bed for a child can be provided and the dressing room linked to the master bedroom can make an ideal nursery area for very young children. Wifi internet plus hi-fi systems with MP3/ipod jack available so visitors can listen to their own music. Central heating and electricity without extra charge. Please be aware that the AGA is only available from November to late February.
A particularly wonderful feature of Field Cottage is the beautiful large, fenced and gated garden, at the rear of the property. This has a combination of lawns and colourful borders plus a terrace with garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. In addition there is an area for young children to enjoy with a trampoline and swings. Bicycles can be stored in a brick built garden outbuilding. At the front of the cottage is a large drive where 4 cars can be parked. Regular bus service to Newport or Alum Bay with a few minutes' walk.
Field Cottage is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Field Cottage. Field Cottage is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 16:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00. Short break weekend and midweek self catering holidays are available from 30th October 2017 to 17th December 2017, 5th January 2018 to 8th February 2018, 16th February 2018 to 22nd March 2018 and 26th October 2018 to 20th December 2018.

Ningwood is a small village just inland from Yarmouth and Shalfleet. This quiet rural spot has beautiful rural views over the West Wight countryside. Ningwood is within a short drive of the South West coastline where there are a number of beaches and a beautiful coastal path.
New Inn, Shalfleet - A lovely village pub with an excellent menu of local produce and locally caught seafood. A warm and friendly atmosphere with a log fire lit on cooler days makes this a lovely place to stop at as part of a walk in the area. New Inn Public House Website
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.

Field Cottage has a large well fenced rear garden and two dogs are welcome. Additional dogs by agreement. Please be aware that pets are not permitted upstairs, on the furniture or in the bedrooms. We also ask owners not to leave dogs on their own in the cottage and not to allow them to foul the garden. Puppies and also dogs with incontinence problems are not permitted without specific agreement. Please ensure that your pet's treatment for the prevention of fleas is up to date. Cats accepted by agreement. Rabbit hutch can also be made available by agreement.

Field Cottage is a self-catering cottage in a rural sitting near Ningwood. The cottage began its life as two attached cottages built around 1850. It retains many of its period features, these may not conform to current Building Regulations.
