This lovely stone cottage is situated in the small rural hamlet of Bowcombe which stands between the pretty village of Shorwell and Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. Brighstone beach is within a 10 minute drive and the larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive.

Within a 2 minute walk of an attractive beach on the beautiful south west coast of the Isle of Wight. Here visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing and paddling. The cottage stands on high ground and there are sea and coastal views from the property. Visitors can relax in the sitting room or on the balcony and watch the sailing boats pass by.

Dairy Cottage is an attractive stone cottage enjoying rural views and with glimpses of Carisbrooke Castle from the master bedroom. The castle is within a 15 minute walk. The cottage is located at the heart of the Isle of Wight and within a short drive of the coast in any direction. Local walks follow the top of the Downs as far as Freshwater and Alum Bay and enjoy wonderful views all along the way.

Lovely traditional thatched cottage situated within a few minutes walk of the centre of the lovely village of Brighstone on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. The village is renowned for its pretty centre with several thatched stone cottages. There is also a public house and a small bistro/tea shop. The beach at Brighstone is within a pleasant 15 minute walk. This is also a wonderful walking and cycling area with easy access to the coastal path plus the beautiful downs which link Carisbrooke and The Needles on the western tip of the Isle of Wight.

Situated within a few minutes walk of the centre of the pretty village of Shalfleet on the west side of the Isle of Wight. The village has a lovely 12th century church, its own village shop and a public house which is extremely good for meals. There is a tennis court which visitors are welcome to use and also an attractive heated swimming pool.

Rectory Cottage is close to the centre of the pretty village of Brighstone on the south west coast of the Isle of Wight in 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. It is only a mile from the sea and is in a wonderful walking and cycling area. The cottage has recently been renovated to provide very attractive centrally heated accommodation with a walled courtyard style garden. There are lovely open views across fields to the downs and with glimpses of the sea from the upper bedrooms.

This lovely stone cottage dates back to the 1700's. It is beautifully situated on the south west coast of the Island – only a two minute walk from the beach. This part of the coastline is renowned for its fossils and is completely unspoilt. Brook Green is a pretty coastal hamlet with a small group of attractive stone cottages. The pretty villages of Brook and Brighstone are nearby. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland are within a 10 – 15 minute drive.
This charming thatched cottage stands in the village of Calbourne, only a one minute walk from the church and picturesque Winkle Street - renowned for being one of the prettiest spots on the Isle of Wight with its lovely stone cottages overlooking a delightful stream with its many wild flowers and clear water. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a lovely walking area with nearby footpaths leading to Brighstone Forest and Westover Down which links with The Tennyson Trail - from Carisbrooke to The Needles. There are quiet bays within a 10 minute drive at Brighstone, Brook and Colwell, on the south west coast of the island. Also at a similar distance is Newtown Estuary - a National Nature Reserve which is home to countless wildfowl and rare wading birds. This is a particularly wonderful and peaceful area for walking and bird watching. The ancient castle of Carisbrooke and the market town of Newport are only a 7 minute drive away. Dove Cottage is a lovely detached stone walled cottage dating back to 1780 and is Grade II listed. It is one of three properties on elevated ground adjoining open countryside and overlooking Westover Park. The cottage has been renovated with care to retain the pretty windows, beams, traditional doors and original inglenook fireplaces. It has been furnished and equipped with care to provide attractive accommodation for 6 people. On the ground floor there is an entrance room with space for coats and boots plus a desk with books and maps for planning the day; a lovely dining room with a window overlooking the front garden; a charming sitting room with sofas, an armchair, Inglenook fireplace, pretty window seat and television/Freesat/DVD; a country style kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and washing machine; an attractive bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c. Upstairs there two pretty double bedrooms and an attractive bunk bedroom for children with views across the fields. A travel cot/high chair can be provided. Central heating and electricity at no extra charge. We regret that the open fires and wood burner cannot be used. Visitors are also asked not to have barbecues because of the fire risk with the thatched roof.
Dove Cottage has a small west facing garden at the front and a large raised garden at the rear with a lawn which slopes gently upwards. Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. The garden is securely fenced and hedged. (Please be aware that there are some different levels in the garden with unfenced drops). There is space in the lane to park one/two cars near the side entrance gate. Regular bus service within a 5 minute to Newport and Freshwater with interlinking services to most parts of the Isle of Wight. Nearby places to visit include Mottistone Manor Gardens, Calbourne Water Mill, Yarmouth Castle, Chessell Pottery, Blackgang Chine Adventure Park; West Wight Alpacas.

Red Lion Public House in nearby Freshwater - The Red Lion is a traditional public house serving great food using local produce and local caught seafood. The Red Lion is in the neigbouring small town of Freshwater but their is a lovely estuary side walk which runs from Yarmouth. To walk simply follow the marked cycle route in the direction of Freshwater till you reach the small road bridge. Turn right, cross the bridge and continue for 200 yards to the pub. The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
