This lovely detached house is very attractively situated, close to the cliff top above Totland Bay, on the west side of the Island. There are sea views from the balcony, bedrooms and dining room and the lighthouse at Hurst Point can be glimpsed in the distance. The sandy bay of Totland where swimming, paddling and boating can be enjoyed is only a 3 minute walk away. This is also a marvellous walking area.

This lovely stone cottage dates back to the 1700's. It is beautifully situated on the south west coast of the Island – only a two minute walk from the beach. This part of the coastline is renowned for its fossils and is completely unspoilt. Brook Green is a pretty coastal hamlet with a small group of attractive stone cottages. The pretty villages of Brook and Brighstone are nearby. The sandy coves of Colwell Bay and Totland are within a 10 – 15 minute drive.

Delightful self catering cottage at Totland within a 12 minute walk of the sandy beaches of Colwell Bay and Totland Bay. This west side of the island is a wonderful walking area with easy access to the coastal path to The Needles and marvellous downland walks and bike rides. The centre of the small market town of Freshwater is within a 15 minute walk and this offers a good range of shops, public houses and restaurants plus a sports centre with indoor pool and a golf course with panoramic views. Romany Cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard and an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the dining area. These fires provide a lovely central focus in colder weather. In the warmth of summer three sets of french doors can be opened from the ground floor rooms into the garden giving the cottage a lovely open feel - the garden is a delightful protected spot to enjoy a barbecue and drinks in the sunshine.

Apple House is situated on the west side of the island, within a 10 minute walk of the beach at Colwell Bay. Here swimming, paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Totland Bay is also within easy walking distance. The coastal path from this area can be followed westward to Alum Bay, Tennyson Down and The Needles - a wonderful walking area with panoramic sea views. The centre of Freshwater is also within a 10 minute walk.

Sea Haze is a lovely detached bungalow situated on the outskirts of Freshwater with a large garden and sea views from the garden and kitchen. It is in a secluded area with individual well spaced properties and on a quiet unmade road. Sea Haze is 1/3 of mile from the sandy bays of Colwell and Totland.This west side of the island is renowned for its beautiful countryside, pretty villages and small sandy bays.
This superb cottage is one of 4 very individual properties skilfully converted from a beautiful church in Totland . It stands within a 10 minute walk of the beaches of Totland Bay and Colwell Bay where swimming, paddling, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. It is also in a wonderful walking area with the nearby coastal path leading through Alum Bay to Tennyson Down above the Needles on the western tip of the Isle of Wight. There is then a wonderful walk following the central downs to Carisbrooke near the centre of the island. The coastal path extends eastwards to the charming town of Yarmouth with its boutique style shops, public houses and excellent restaurants as well as offering easy access by ferry to Lymington on the mainland. The nearby town of Freshwater has a variety of shops with a large supermarket, swimming pool with gym; a good Golf Course with dramatic coastal views and a country public house, The Red Lion, offering excellent home grown and island produce cuisine.
Church House has been furnished and equipped with great care, to a very high standard, to provide excellent accommodation and a wonderful base from which to explore the Island. The house is centrally heated and double glazed with accommodation on three floors. Deep cream carpets throughout most of the property and lovely co-ordinated fabrics give it a particularly luxurious feel. On the ground floor there is a delightful entrance hall; an open plan living area with a very attractive sitting area with a large bay window, comfortable sofas and chairs; flat screen Smart television with Freeview/DVD player; a charming dining area; a well equipped fitted kitchen with electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washing machine; a cloakroom with WC and basin. Stairs lead up to a lovely master bedroom with a king size bed and a beautifully tiled bathroom with a free standing bath, separate walk in shower, basin and WC. A further flight of stairs leads up to two additional charming bedrooms - a twin bedroom and a second double room. There are wardrobes in all bedrooms. Central heating, electricity and WiFi internet provided without extra charge.
Church House has a small courtyard style garden at the front of the property which is walled and gated. Garden furniture is provided. Cars can be parked in the quiet unmade road. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. Nearby places to visit include Fort Victoria; the National Trust Battery; Alum Bay with it coloured sands, lift to the beach and boat trips around the Needles. There are fishing trips from the various nearby bays and surfing at Compton Bay which is also renowned for its fossils.
Church House is a non smoking cottage. WiFi Internet is provided free of charge at Church House. Church House is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Saturday to Saturday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:00 and the normal departure time is 10:00.

Totland is a small seaside village on the West of the Isle of Wight. The beach at Totland is a hidden gem of the Island and mostly frequented by local people. The beautiful bay has a mix of sand and shingle and so very comfortable for sunbathing or swimming from. The neighbouring bay of Colwell Bay is also within easy reach and here you get wonderful views of the mainland and the historic coastal defences.

Highdown, Alum Bay - Attractive little public house serving good food. Located along the Freshwater Bay to Alum Bay back road and can be nicely incorporated into a walk between Freshwater Bay and Alum Bay via the coastal path. highdowninn.com.

Totland Beach - The beach at Totland is a long shingle beach with patches of sand. The position of the beach means it received more of the afternoon sun than beaches on the East of the Isle of Wight and therefore remains popular in the evenings with people looking out at the sea view and the mainland beyond. Colwell Bay - Colwell Bay is the next bay down from Totland Bay towards Yarmouth. Colwell Bay has a sandy beach with patches of shingle and also faces West and thus receives sunshine later in the day. More information about Colwell Bay
Freshwater Bay - This pretty bay on the West coast of the Isle of Wight is a short drive from Totland and can also be reached on foot. The bay is surrounded by cliffs which gives beautiful views and a dramatic back drop for swimmers. More information about Freshwater Bay
The ride starts in Freshwater Bay, joins a cycle track on the edge of Freshwater town going to Yarmouth. After seeing Yarmouth, with it's castle and boutique shops, the route continues to Totland and Totland Bay, where there is a beautiful beach, and on towards Alum Bay where we turn back towards Freshwater.

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.
