Brighstone is renowned for its thatched cottages, beautiful church and tea shops. There is also a public house and restaurant for meals. This is a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight and nearby there are several small quiet coves were visitors can paddle and swim. Brighstone beach is within a 20 minute walk.

The bungalow was lovely and the beds were very comfortable for tall guests. A heartfelt thank you to the owners for lovely mattresses. Unfortunately we had to use the local doctor, but the service was excellent and [the owner] was very kind & helpful. Overall Rating: 5 Stars

Chipps Moor is a lovely bungalow, attractively situated in a country lane, on the outskirts of the picturesque rural village of Brighstone, on the south west coast of the Isle of Wight - the village centre is only a 10 minute walk away. Brighstone is renowned for its thatched cottages, beautiful church and tea shops. There is also a public house and restaurant for meals. This is a beautiful part of the Isle of Wight and nearby there are several small quiet coves. Brighstone beach is within a 20 minute walk. Chipps Moor is in a splendid walking area and footpaths lead from close to the property to the Tennyson Trail which extends along the downs towards The Needles or to the castle of Carisbrooke. The small town of Freshwater is within a 10 minute drive.

Chipps Moor is a detached brick built bungalow with all the rooms on one level. It is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care. It provides light, spacious and attractive accommodation for six people in three bedrooms. There is one double bedroom and two twin rooms; a shower room with a W.C. and basin; a separate bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C.; a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, washing machine and breakfast bar. A tumble dryer is also provided. A separate and attractive dining room has views over the garden. The spacious sitting room is furnished with attractive sofas and a television/DVD/Hi-Fi system. (Please be aware that the patio doors in the sitting room are for emergency use only). Travel cot/high chair can be provided. Heating/electricity at no extra charge. Telephone available.

Visitors can enjoy a meal on the terrace whilst overlooking the very attractive secluded garden which is home to a variety of birds. Red Squirrels can also sometimes be seen. A small number of steps lead down from the terrace to a large lawn. Garden furniture, a parasol and a barbecue are provided. A small gate from the fenced rear garden leads into the drive at the side of the bungalow where 3 cars can be parked. Bus service - 5 minutes walk. Public house and shop - 10 minutes walk.

The pretty village of Brighstone has a great mix of thatched and period housing. The village centre is a vibrant place with a couple of shops and a pub and a restaurant. The Brighstone is by the sea and on the coast there is a long shingle and sand beach which extends up and down the west coast.

To See and Do Around Brighstone, Isle of Wight

Brighstone Beach - The sand and shingle beach at Brighstone is a short walk from the village centre. The West coast beach extends all the way to Blackgang in the South and Freshwater in the West. Find out more about Brighstone Beach.

Walking the Downs - Footpaths from Brighstone take you up onto the Down from which you can take a hill top walk to Freshwater Bay to the West or Carisbrooke to the East. The Down affords wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and some vantage points allow you to see almost the whole of the West side of the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, one can follow the coastal path from Brighstone and enjoy the dramatic coastline towards Alum Bay which takes in Brook and Freshwater Bay.

West Isle of Wight Information

The West of the Isle of Wight is best known for its unspoilt nature and dramatic coastline. The areas is far less commercialised and the many of the beaches can be enjoyed almost to ones self. West Isle of Wight beaches include Totland Bay, Freshwater Bay, Compton Beach, Brook Beach and Bembridge Beach.

Inland are the Tennyson Downs which connect Alum Bay to Carisbrooke. The Downs make a lovely walk even if you choose only to do a short part of them. Cycle paths and footpaths are especially numerous in this part of the Isle of Wight. View more West Isle of Wight Cottages
