This lovely stone cottage occupies an attractive position in a quiet country lane, on the outskirts of Godshill. It has been converted from the original milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm and the building is thought to date back to the 1700‘s. A small riding stables is within a few minutes walk and most of the surrounding fields are home to horses. The centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away.

Groom Cottage is a large property with thick stone walls, wooden beams and an attractive appearance with four gables. The original building dates back to 1695, and period stone door surrounds and lintels can be seen on its south elevation. Parking available adjacent to the cottage. This lovely 17th century cottage is built of Island chalk and brick and enjoys beautiful views across nearby lakes and open countryside to Ventnor Downs. Parlour Cottage is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful South Wight countryside. It is a marvellous walking area with footpaths that can be followed directly from the cottage in most directions. There are particularly attractive walks along the course of the river Yar; to the picturesque village of Godshill and to the nearby village of Arreton which has a public house, farm shop and cafe for meals. The cottage is excellent for cyclists as there is access to a network of cycle paths directly from the farm and arrangements can be make for the storage of bikes. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.

Fodder Stable is on a lovely farm in beautiful countryside. From the cottage there are views across the fields to the downs of Ventnor in the distance. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage towards the picturesque village of Godshill or the coastal village of Niton. There is also easy access to the cycle route which crosses the Island. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.
This delightful detached farm cottage enjoys lovely rural views and is less than a mile from the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It is situated on a 400 acre arable farm which is home to a small number of cows and sheep. The seaside town of Ventnor is within a 5 minute drive as are several small bays including the picturesque Steephill Cove. The larger sandy beaches of Shanklin and Sandown are a 15 minute drive away. This cottage is in a wonderful walking and cycling area. Visitors are welcome to join footpaths and bridleways directly from the cottage which link to renowned Island walks such as the Stenbury and Worsley Trails which extend from the coast to the centre of the Isle of Wight.
This lovely detached stone cottage has been skillfully converted from an old blacksmiths shop to provide charming accommodation for four people. It is a single storey detached property which is centrally heated and has been equipped to a high standard. There is a delightful open plan living room with comfortable corner sofas beside large windows, a flat screen television/Freesat/DVD player; a small dining area and a well equipped fitted kitchen with an electric cooker/halogen hob, microwave, refrigerator with icebox, and slim-line dishwasher. (Washing machine/tumble dryer in a separate utility room). Patio doors open from the living room into a fenced courtyard with open views across the fields. Two steps lead up to a hallway giving access to two bedrooms - one 'king size' double room with a fitted wardrobe and a pretty twin bedroom plus a bathroom with bath, overhead Mira sport electric shower, basin and WC. A travel cot/high chair can be made available. Central heating and electricity provided without extra charge.
The cottage has a fenced courtyard with garden furniture and a barbecue, which is available on request during summer months. Here visitors can relax whilst enjoying the wonderful views across the farm. A gateway opens from the courtyard onto a gravelled area at the side of the property where two cars can be parked. There is access from here directly onto an open grassy field which visitors are welcome to enjoy and can join a footpath which leads into the centre of Whitwell where there is a public house for meals and historic church – a 20 minute walk away. Outbuildings are available for bikes to be stored. Nearby places to visit include Ventnor Botanical Garden, the picturesque village of Godshill, The Donkey Sanctuary and Blackgang Adventure Park.

The Blacksmiths Shop is available for weekly self catering holiday bookings from Friday to Friday. The normal arrival time at this holiday cottage is 15:30 and the normal departure time is 10:00. The village of Whitwell is located on the South East of the Isle of Wight and is just a short drive from the beaches of Ventnor and Bonchurch to the South and Shanklin in the East. Whitwell has a small village pub that serves excellent food. The surrounding countryside has a number of walks and footpaths run to the sea and join with the coastal path.

The South of the Isle of Wight is a wonderful mix of pretty beaches and dramatic coastal landscape. The sand and shingle beach at Ventnor is one of the more popular holiday locations but hidden gems such as Bonchurch and Steephill Cove are really worth a visit too.
The coastal path around the South Coast of the Isle of Wight is a particularly beautiful stretch to explore and passes a number of attractive sites which include Steephill Cove, Orchard Bay and St Catherine's Light House at Niton Undercliff. Some of this area has been prone to erosion so you must stick to the footpath and take heed of diversions.
