Whitecliff Bay is a beautiful bay near Bembridge with a long sandy beach sheltered by cliffs. The water gently slopes away and it is great for swimming of splashing about in the surf.
Either side of the bay there are rocky outcrops which hold rock pools after the tide has retreated.
There is a small cafe (Tuppenny Cafe) and shop on the beach. They sell a range of cooked food as well as good sandwiches.
Notices explain beach safety are found at Whitecliff Bay Beach. It is important to read about the local conditions and how to stay safe. Public toilets are available at Whitecliff Bay Beach.
Getting There: Whitecliff Bay is below Whitecliff Bay Holiday park and there isn't public parking available. A good tip if you come by car is to drive up Culver Down via Culvar Down Road (Follow the seafront out of Sandown and right at the roundabout and first right up Culvar Down Rd). At the end of this road is a car park and a footpath then takes you down to Whitecliff Bay. Alternatively, you may wish to walk south along the coastal path from Bembridge.
