St Helen's Beach

Ed 16 May 2018

St Helen’s Beach is a peaceful sand and pebble beach on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, just north of Bembridge.  This is one of the quieter beaches on this side of the island and is favoured by those looking for a place for a gentle swim, some walking and a spot of birdwatching. St Helen’s is home to a sand dune system that runs along a section of the beach. The beach is within walking distance of the village for local amenities that include shops, restaurants and pubs.

The beach has an easterly aspect overlooking The Solent with views to the mainland and out to the English Channel.  It’s a relaxing spot to watch the ships and boats out on the water. St Helen’s is a dog friendly beach all year round with no restrictions. There are public toilets, disabled facilities, and a slipway for visitors to use. For refreshments or a light lunch, there is a café close to the beach too. The Isle of Wight Coast Path runs past St Helen’s for some spectacular sea views. Please read the beach safety notices at St Helen’s Beach concerning local sea conditions.
