Compton Beach Isle of WightSeaview probably has the most loyal following of any seaside location on the Isle of Wight. The beaches at Seaview attract visitors back year after year as well as the wonderful atmosphere and the pretty little seaside village.

In reality thier are 3 beaches at Seaview which extend out from the centre of the village and which are all within easy walking distance.

Seagrove Bay

The one closest to the centre of Seaview is callled Seagrove Bay and is just to the south of the centre. This is a long, gently sloping, sandy beach that runs for several hundred meters. There is a small cafe and shop for beach side refreshments here but the town is quite close by if want more choice.

Priory Bay Beach

This less well known beach is beyond Seagrove Bay and is about a 20min walk from Seaview around the headland. This sandy beach is known to for it's peaceful seclusion and gently sloping sandy beach. There are no facilities at the beach so you will have to bring a picnic or walk back into Seaview.

Ryde Sands at Seaview

The Ryde Sands, a large sand bank south or Ryde, extends down to form a sandy beach to the north of the centre of Seaview. This beach is several hundred meters long and goes all the way to Puckpool Point. The beach here is fairly quiet compared with Seagrove Bay at the Seaview end as there are no cafes, or facilities behind the beach. Hoever, it is only a short walk into town to find refreshment.

At the north end of the beach, near Puckpool Point there is a historic battery (Puckpool Battery) behind which there is a shop/cafe and toilet facilities.

Getting There: Seaview is on the coast between Ryde and Bembridge. From Ryde take the main road to Sandown and turn left onto the signposted road on the edge of Ryde. Seaview is also accessable via the coastal path from Ryde and many people, even locals, are supprised how close the two places are to walk between.

Bay View is beautifully situated beside the beach with panoramic sea views from most of the main rooms. It is in a peaceful location with the beach of Seagrove Bay only half a minute's walk away. Here swimming, paddling and boating can be enjoyed. There is also a footpath directly from the house to the beautiful sandy Priory Bay - a 5 minute walk away. The atmospheric village centre of Seaview, with its small shops, sailing club and restaurants is within a 7 minute stroll.

The esplanade of Seaview and the beach is less than 500 yrds away. Here there is a café/bar, tennis courts, putting and a large playground. A 15 minute stroll along the esplanade leads to the centre of Seaview where there is a variety of good restaurants.
