Compton Beach Isle of WightBrighstone Beach a shingle beach with patches of sand. The long sweeping bay is a beautiful place to spend a day by the sea and enjoy the very clear water.

Brighstone Beach is extremely long and the bay is over 4kms across which means you can have a a few hundred meters of it to yourself even at the height of the summer.

There are several routes down to the beach but the main access is through the Grange Farm camp site. Here you will find a small shop for buying snacks for the beach.

If you are packing a picnic for a trip to Brighstone Beach you may want to visit the village of Brighstone first where there is an excellent small shop.

Getting There: Brighstone is on the East coast of the Isle of Wight between Brook and Chale. To reach the sea you can park along the this section of the Military Rd and walk down to the sea along one of the footpaths. Bus route 12 from Freshwater to Newport passes Brighstone Village from where you can walk down to the beach.
