Shanklin, Isle of Wight

Shanklin has long been the Isle of Wight's principle quality seaside holiday destination and enjoys a lovely days-gone-by feel. A long sandy beach is the main attraction for many but people also come to enjoy a good range of shops and restaurants, gardens, parks and coastal walks.
The small town centre has traditional shops and pubs and one is able to buy traditional sweats and toys. An elevator system charges a small fee to take you to and from the beach from the town or you can try the fairly steep (but attractive) walk with views along the coast and over to Culver Cliffs.

Pubic Houses on the Isle of Wight

Seaside Public House where you can enjoy good food & drink with views of the sea

The Fisherman's Cottage Pub is right at the end of the Shanklin promenade and near the Shanklin Chine. Here the beach is a little quieter and you can sit in relative peace with great sea views. A good range of food is on offer and includes good sea food which is popular with Islanders.

The quality of the food was first rate and the chili prawn starter looked and tasted superb.

This friendly and welcoming tea garden is a hidden treasure on the Isle of Wight. This secluded sun trap garden over looking the sea is the perfect place to enjoy the range of  excellent home made cakes and light lunches. The fruit cake may well be the best on the Island (we are open to other recommendations).
