Fisherman's Cottage Public House - Shanklin

Seaside Public House where you can enjoy good food & drink with views of the sea

The Fisherman's Cottage Pub is right at the end of the Shanklin promenade and near the Shanklin Chine. Here the beach is a little quieter and you can sit in relative peace with great sea views. A good range of food is on offer and includes good sea food which is popular with Islanders.

The quality of the food was first rate and the chili prawn starter looked and tasted superb.

Pointer Inn - Newchurch

map_newchurchGood pub food and enormous portions

A favourite among locals for lunches and dinner with a large variety of pub food and seasonal fish and meat dishes. The intimate and friendly restaurant is decorated with an enormous collection of brass and traditional objects which make one pause to think how they are all maintained to such a high degree of brilliance.

The White Horse - Whitwell

map_whitwellA warm and welcoming public house with historic charm.

Specialising in traditional pub fare this village pub is a friendly and welcoming place to enjoy the pie of the day or a plate of fish and chips. That said, The White House is well able to cope with more exotic tastes and also serves up Thai green curry, a tasty vegetarian lasagne or something to suit almost every whim.

map_freshwaterAn amazing pub which you will recommend to everyone

highdown inn FreshwaterA delightful place to have lunch or dinner on the West side of the Isle of Wight and only a small detour when walking along the Tennyson Downs or around Freshwater and Alum Bay. The Highdown still draws a crowd due to an excellent reputation for it's food and because it combines an authentically friendly atmosphere and charming traditional public house feel. The menu of specials is chalked up on the wall and offers inovative and mouth watering dishes which take full advantage of local produce and fish.
