Swifts has beautiful open sea views across the fields. Sailing boats and the occasional liner often enhance the scene. Swifts is nestled on the south coast of the Island on a lovely 33 acre farm with parkland rolling down to the coast and footpaths leading to secluded beaches and coves. The nearest cove is only 5 minutes walk away. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, renowned for its mild climate. Guests are welcome to roam around the fields and parkland of the farm where there are Sicilian miniature donkeys, Falabella miniature horses, as well as a llama. Ducks and moorhens adorn the lake, which is fenced. The seaside resort of Ventnor is less than a 5 minute drive away.
Swifts has been furnished and equipped with great care to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation which is all on one level. There is a very spacious sitting room with two sets of large patio doors opening on to the terrace. It is a lovely light room where guests can relax and enjoy the beautiful sea views. It is attractively furnished with comfortable sofas, a colour television/video/DVD. There is a pleasant dining area and a separate modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge freezer and washing machine. There is also a large bathroom and three attractive bedrooms. The double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with W.C., sea views and a French door which opens on to the terrace. There are two twin rooms and one of these also has sea views. An additional folding bed, sofa bed and cot/high chair can be provided. Swifts is heated with wall mounted convector heaters. Heating and electricity free of charge. Garden furniture is provided on the south facing terrace. A small number of steps lead into the garden.
Swifts has a spacious garden which is shared by the adjoining cottage of Swallows. There is a large lawn and also a play area for children with a slide and climbing frame. Parking space for 3 cars available close to the cottage. Nearby is the Ventnor Botanical Garden which is renowned for its rare plants, and there is a much praised fish restaurant at Steephill Cove. A cricket club with a bar open to the public is within 15 minutes walk. Village shop ½ mile. Telephone and bus service within 3 minutes walk.

Public Transport - Local bus 2mins walk. Busses go to Ryde (via Ventnor) or Newport. Local Shop - Grocery shops are best reached by bus or car and located in Ventnor town. Local Amenities - Local public house serving food is within a 10minute walk or take the coastal path to Ventnor for a wider choice. Local Walks - The cottage is located in a fantastic walking area and you can choose between short walks into Ventnor or longer treks along the coastal path. Inland you are able to walk the Downs and see spectacular views and wild life. Activities - The cottage is located near to the beach at Ventnor as well as quite bays at St Lawrence. All are within walking distance via the coastal path. |
