
This pretty thatched cottage dates back to the 17th Century. It stands in a rural area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ between the picturesque villages of Brook and Brighstone on the southwest side of the Island. The cottage is set back from the road and is surrounded by an acre of secluded fenced garden. The coastal path, from which there are lovely sea views, is only 1/4 mile away. Visitors can also enjoy lovely walks inland and join the Tennyson Trail. The sandy bays of Freshwater and Compton are within a five minute drive.
Sudmoor is a lovely detached, stone walled cottage which has been renovated with great care to retain its wooden beams, pretty doors and windows. The cottage is attractively furnished in a traditional style and has central heating. It has three attractive bedrooms. Upstairs there is a lovely double bedroom and a twin room. There is a pretty single room on the ground floor with its own stone fireplace. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and this is equipped with a Victorian bath, on ball and claw legs, and a separate built in electric shower. There is a very attractive sitting room with a large inglenook fireplace which is delightfully decorated with dried flowers. The room is comfortably furnished sofas, a colour television, Freeview and DVD player. The spacious modern fitted kitchen is equipped with an AGA (which remains on in the summer), microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. A mini oven is available. There is a very pleasant spacious dining area and patio doors open from here into a large, tiled, sunny conservatory where meals can be enjoyed and children can play.
Sudmoor Cottage has a lovely large secluded garden where visitors can relax. There is a slide for younger children. Garden furniture is provided. Parking space for three cars and pay telephone for outgoing calls. Public house - 20 minutes walk. Shop and post office within 1 mile. Public transport – 15 minutes walk. Heating/electricity free. Wooden cot/high chair available. Smoking not permitted.
