This lovely stone cottage was originally a large and ancient stone barn at Sainham Farm. It is situated in the attractive courtyard and has marvellous open views from the rear across the fields to the downs. Stag Cottage is in one of the loveliest parts of the Island lying at the foot of Appuldurcombe Down and above the picturesque village of Godshill in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Godshill can be reached by taking a pleasant stroll through the beech copse and across the fields. The village has a variety of tea shops and restaurants as well as two public houses. This is a wonderful walking area. Footpaths lead from the farm to Appuldurcombe and join the extensive Stenbury Trail to the coast at Ventnor. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are only a 10 minute drive away.
