Shiloh Stable Cottage is beautifully situated on a small farm set amidst wonderful peaceful countryside. There are open views from the cottage across the surrounding countryside. These views extend over fields to the coast – the sea and the Hampshire coastline can be glimpsed in the distance. Horses are kept in some of the nearby fields. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading directly from the cottage to Wootton Creek estuary where there is a public house and restaurant overlooking the water; to Havenstreet with its steam railway or delightful walks in nearby woodland. The sandy beaches of Appley and Ryde are within a 10 minute drive as is the market town of Newport, with its medieval castle of Carisbrooke, and Osborne House, the Island home of Queen Victoria.
Shiloh Stable Cottage stands in a lovely courtyard and has been newly renovated to the highest standard. It has beautiful oak and tiled floors and sensitive spot lighting. The character of the cottage has been enhanced by the use of wood panelling, beams, a pretty verandah and such touches as low level illumination of the stairs. It is centrally heated, double glazed and furnished and equipped with care to provide beautiful accommodation for six people in 3 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a magnificent spacious open plan fitted kitchen with French oak units, deep black granite worktops, a tiled floor, AGA, with additional ceramic hob and two electric ovens, microwave, dishwasher and American style fridge freezer; a pleasant dining area with double doors opening into a delightful sitting room with a large open fire and French doors opening on to the verandah and into the garden. This room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs, a large flat screen television/DVD/Freeview. There is a charming double bedroom on the ground floor with a king size bed, flat screen television/DVD and French doors opening onto the veranda; a well equipped bathroom with a bath, basin and W.C and a further separate shower room. Upstairs there are two additional spacious bedrooms. These are both lovely light and airy rooms with floor to ceiling opening doors so that visitors can really enjoy the views and the scents and sounds of the countryside.
These bedrooms both have double beds, flat screen televisions/DVD. A comfortable sofa bed in the alcove of one of these bedrooms can be used to accommodate an extra child or to enable the room to be used as a twin. There is a shower room upstairs with a built in shower, basin and W.C. A utility room is available equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and sink. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. Heating and electricity without extra charge. Please be aware that the AGA is not available for use in the summer.
The cottage has a lovely enclosed garden where visitors can relax and children can play games. There is also a patio area with garden furniture and the verandah provides another pleasant place to sit on warm days and in the evenings. Two cars can be parked in the courtyard at the front of the cottage. Use of the courtyard is shared with the farmhouse. Public house, farm shop and public transport within 5 minutes walk. General stores 20 minutes walk.
