This farmhouse is attractively situated on the edge of the pretty village of Shalfleet towards the West side of the Isle of Wight. The cottage adjoins the grounds of Shalfleet Manor House and has its own private entrance into a quiet lane which leads from the village to a footpath on Newtown Creek. This estuary, which is only a few minutes walk from the farmhouse, is part of a National Nature Reserve and is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to countless wildfowl and rare wading birds. The walks around the estuary are some of the most attractive on the Island. Several secluded bays and beaches are within 10 minutes drive.
Shalfleet Manor Farmhouse is a detached property equipped with care and centrally heated. Heating/electricity free of charge. Upstairs there is an attractive double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and W.C.; a spacious twin room, and a triple room with bunk beds and a single bed; plus a bathroom with a bath, hand shower and W.C. There is also a single bedroom on the ground floor with an adjoining shower room and W.C. Folding bed, high chair and wooden cot available. The sitting room is a lovely light room with windows overlooking the gardens and an open fire can be enjoyed in colder weather. It has a colour television/DVD player. There is a large open plan modern fitted kitchen with attractive units, and a pleasant dining area by a window overlooking the front garden. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The farmhouse is surrounded by a spacious fenced garden with a large area of lawn. Garden furniture and a barbecue. Three cars can be parked in the drive.
There is a tennis court in the grounds of the manor house which visitors are welcome to use and also a beautiful heated swimming pool which can be used each weekday morning and at other times by agreement from mid June – mid September. (The pool may be used in May and late September but at these times the temperature cannot be guaranteed). Use of the pool is shared with visitors of Shalfleet Barn and Cottage. The swimming pool is less than a minutes walk from the farmhouse and enjoys a secluded position, surrounded by the beautiful gardens of the Manor House. Public house with an excellent restaurant, village shop, bus service and telephone within a few minutes walk. Smoking not permitted.
