
This pretty cottage is attractively situated in the beautiful gardens of Shalfleet Manor House. The Manor House is built of Island stone and dates back to the 1600’s. It is close to the centre of the village and surrounded by several acres of garden. In the gardens is a beautifully secluded heated swimming pool which visitors are welcome to use each weekday morning and at other times by agreement from mid June – mid September. (The pool may be used in May and late September but at these times the temperature cannot be guaranteed). Use of the pool is shared with visitors of Shalfleet Farmhouse and Barn. Visitors may also enjoy a game of tennis on the court in the garden. The Newtown Estuary is only a few minutes walk from the cottage. This estuary is part of a National Nature reserve and is situated in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The walks around the estuary are some of the most attractive on the Island. The nearby coastal path leads to Tennyson Down and the Needles. An estuary safari by boat to see the bird life can be provided at preferential prices for guests at Shalfleet Manor.
This stone built cottage has been furnished and equipped with care and provides comfortable and attractive accommodation which is all on one level. Two attractive oak doors provide the entrance into a spacious open plan sitting room with a lovely large window, comfortable sofa, television and DVD. There is a dining area and new fitted kitchen area equipped with an electric oven and hob, refrigerator, microwave and washer dryer. The cottage has a pretty bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with bath and hand shower. It is heated with electric radiators. All heating and electricity free of charge. Garden furniture is provided in a nearby area of the garden so that meals can be enjoyed outside. A car can be parked beside the cottage. Sofa bed, travel cot and high chair available.
There is an excellent public house with restaurant, village shop, telephone and regular bus service within a few minutes walk. A range of shops and restaurants can be found in the yachting centre of Yarmouth - 7 minutes drive. Several beaches are within 10 minutes drive.
