Sea Drift Cottage is attractively situated in a conservation area close to the centre of the historic and picturesque coastal town of Yarmouth. The town has a very pleasant harbour with many sailing boats, an attractive square, narrow streets and a Victorian pier which is a relaxing place to stroll and for fishing. There are a variety of good restaurants, tea shops, a delicatessant, general stores and interesting small boutique style shops plus a 16th century castle – all within 4 minutes walk. Several sandy coves are within a 7 minute drive and these are ideal for paddling, swimming and boating. This is a wonderful walking area and the coastal path can be followed eastwards towards the village of Shalfleet and the National Nature Reserve at Newtown or westwards to Tennyson Down and the Needles, the most westerly point of the Isle of Wight.
Sea Drift is situated in a pretty street with only pedestrian access and in consequence is an attractive area with gardens, benches and seats. The cottage is semi detached and has been renovated and furnished with care to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation for 4 people in two bedrooms. The property is centrally heated and has attractive oak floors on the ground floor and fitted carpets in the bedrooms. It has a lovely light and airy feel. On the ground floor there is an attractive sitting room with comfortable sofas, a large wide screen television/DVD; a lovely open plan area with a fitted kitchen and pleasant dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer. A wall of glass doors can fold back to give completely open access into the lovely small courtyard garden. Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms – one pretty double room and a twin room; a well equipped bathroom with a bath, overhead shower, basin and w.c. A cot and high chair/folding bed can be provided if required. Heating and electricity without extra charge. WiFi internet available.
The cottage has a pretty courtyard garden with a barbecue and garden furniture so that meals can be enjoyed outside. The courtyard is walled with a gate opening into a small lane which leads to the front of the property. Visitors are provided with a parking permit to enable them in park in nearby streets which have resident parking spaces. There is an excellent bus service within a 3 minute walk of the cottage which visitors can use to tour the island. Good access to the cottage is provided via a ferry service from the mainland to Yarmouth. There is also easy access to cycle routes which cross the Island. Nearby places to visit include the The Needles Park, Yarmouth Castle, Mottistone Manor and Blackgang Adventure Park.
