This wonderful property is situated on a lovely farm in beautiful countryside. It has recently been converted from a large old granary, the foundations of which date back to the 1700s. A fire in 1889 resulted in much of it being rebuilt and it was then used for milling corn until 1992. Redway Manor Granary has been renovated with the greatest care and wherever possible original features have been retained. From the property there are beautiful views across the fields and nearby lakes and to the downs of Ventnor in the distance. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading from close to the cottage towards the picturesque village of Godshill or the coastal village of Niton. There is also easy access to the cycle route which crosses the Island. The sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are all within a 15 minute drive. The cottage is quite centrally situated and most parts of the Island can be reached in a 20 minute drive.
Redway Manor Granary is an unusually spacious property with the accommodation on two floors. It is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard in a traditional style. The cottage has a wonderful open plan sitting room with a lovely oak floor and it is furnished with rugs, comfortable sofas, colour television/DVD. Visitors can relax here and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. There is a very pleasant dining area and an attractive large fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. The cottage has three lovely bedrooms including one pretty twin room on the ground floor with its own en-suite shower room with W.C. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom which also enjoys rural views, a spacious twin room, plus a well equipped bathroom with a bath, hand shower, sink and W.C. Heating and electricity at no extra charge. Wooden cot/high chair available. In order to retain the integral character of the granary the ceiling heights downstairs are high and upstairs are in keeping with a traditional cottage.
At the front of Redway Manor Granary there is a fenced garden with garden furniture. Cars can be parked just outside the arched entrance which leads to the cottage garden. Nearby there is a lovely large lawned area where games can be played and in the farmhouse garden there are some beautiful lakes which visitors can make arrangements to fish. Access to the farm is along a gravel lane. Arreton is a village within 20 minutes walk where there is a public house, village shop, and tea shop. Rural bus service - 15 minutes walk. Arrival time 4.30 p.m. Departure time 11.30.
