The Old Chapel House is a fascinating property which has been converted into a wonderful home. It is pleasantly situated in the centre of the small rural village of Whitwell only 2 miles from the quiet coves on the south coast of the Island and within a five minute drive of the beach at Ventnor. This is also a wonderful walking area as the village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and nearby footpaths join trails towards the downs. The Old Chapel House dates back to 1884. The house has been furnished and equipped with care in a traditional style. It is centrally heated and there are plentiful supplies of hot water for the five bath/shower rooms of the property. The house comfortably accommodates 12 people in 8 bedrooms - 4 single rooms, 3 double rooms and a twin/double room. Two additional beds, a travel cot, stair gate and high chair can be provided. The impressive double doors at the front entrance to The Old Chapel House open into a spacious hall which provides a quiet place to relax. A further set of doors open into a magnificent sitting room with a vaulted ceiling which extends to the full height of the building and is enhanced by a delightful galleried landing. Here there are comfortable sofas and chairs; a warming flame effect gas fire set in a beautiful marble surround; a large wide screen television with Sky channels and a DVD player. A second staircase ascends to another wonderful bedroom with, a double bed, a magnificent circular leaded light window and an en-suite bathroom with a central Victorian style bath, W.C and basin.
The Old Chapel House has a wing which is reached via a passageway from the kitchen. This passes through an area with a sauna, a built in shower and adjacent W.C.
