November Cottage enjoys sea views from its three bedrooms, kitchen, galleried sitting area and terrace. To the rear of the property are fields and views of the downs. The cottage has been furnished and equipped with care to a high standard in a modern style. It is centrally heated and provides very attractive and comfortable accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washer/dryer. There is a spacious sitting room furnished with comfortable sofas, wide screen plasma colour television, DVD and SkyPlus facility. French doors open from here into a very pleasant conservatory where visitors can relax and enjoy informal meals. There is also a separate dining room and a pleasant twin bedroom on the ground floor plus a bathroom with an overhead shower and W.C. Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms and W.Cs. These bedrooms have wide screen LCD colour televisions and are also equipped with air conditioning for use during hot weather.
The galleried landing, with its large glazed windows is an exceptional feature of the property and offers visitors a very attractive place to relax and enjoy the view. A door opens from here onto a terrace which is a good vantage point from which to look out to sea. A folding bed/wooden cot/high chair can be provided. Heating and electricity at no extra charge. An area of decking outside the conservatory offers a pleasant place for alfresco dining with rural views. Garden furniture is provided. Four cars can be parked in the drive at the front of the property. Public transport - 3 minutes walk. The small town of Freshwater which has a variety of shops, a good public house for meals and a leisure club with indoor swimming pool is within a 10 minute drive.
There are nearby historic sites to be enjoyed such as Mottistone Manor, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House - the Island home of Queen Victoria; entertainments for children at Blackgang Adventure Park, Robin Hill, Fort Victoria Marine Aquarium and Alum Bay; sailing and boating activities; the steam railway; golf courses at Freshwater and Cowes.
Orientation - November Cottage is by the coast and also a short walk from the pretty rural hamlet of Brighstone Public Transport - Local bus 1mins walk. Busses run along the coast road to either Ventnor or Freshwater. An inland bus to Newport is available by walking the short distance into Brighstone. Local Shop - Grocery shops are to be found in Brighstone. They supply essentials as well as fresh fruit & vegetables. The national papers are also just a short walk from the cottage. Local Amenities - There is a public house only a few minutes walk from the cottage or another two in the nearby village of Brighstone. Local Walks - The cottage is located in a fantastic walking area. The main choices are either the coastal pathor the Tennyson Downs which have a connective path in the village of Brighstone. Activities - The cottage is located near to the beach and the coast line is attractive for walking or just relaxing on. These west coast beaches attract water sport enthusiasts and surfing is a popular past time here. Brighstone - The village of Brighstone (map below) is historic and pretty. There are a wealth of local facilities as well as a National Trust shop. The Pubs and Restaurants offer food and entertainment all year around. |
