This cottage is situated in a quiet country lane on the outskirts of Godshill. It was originally the milking parlour of Lower Yard Farm. The surrounding fields are home to horses which belong to a small nearby riding school. Here you are in lovely countryside but the centre of the picturesque village of Godshill, with its pretty thatched cottages, restaurants and tea shops is only 3/4 mile away. The market town of Newport with its wide variety of shops and medieval castle is within a 5 minute drive. The sandy beaches of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor are all within a 15 minute drive.
Milk Parlour Cottage is built of Island stone and is thought to date back to the 1700’s. It adjoins The Hayloft and has very recently been completely renovated. It has been furnished and equipped in a traditional style to a high standard with fitted carpets, central heating and a plentiful supply of hot water. It provides very pleasant and comfortable accommodation, which is all on one level, for 4 people in 2 bedrooms. There is a pretty sitting room furnished with comfortable sofas, a flat screen television/DVD player; a newly equipped kitchen with fitted units, an electric oven and hob, microwave and refrigerator with small freezer section; a modern bathroom with bath, overhead shower, basin and W.C.; two attractive cosy bedrooms - one double room and one with a full size bunk bed. The top bunk bed can be removed if only a single room is required. A travel cot and high chair can be provided. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in a nearby utility room, use of which is shared with visitors of the adjoining cottage the Hayloft. Heating and electricity is provided at no extra charge.
There is a small walled garden, with a lawn and shrubs, at the rear of the cottage and also an attractive fenced garden at the front. Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed outside. Parking for two cars beside the cottage. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk. Public house within ½ mile. General stores and telephone ¾ mile. Smoking not permitted.
