Longhill is a lovely stone cottage standing in the quiet rural village of Shorwell on the Southwest coast of the Island - only 5 minutes drive from a quiet beach at Brighstone. There are a variety of small sandy coves on the west side of the Island where visitors can enjoy swimming, paddling, boating and fishing. The centre of the village of Shorwell, with its public house, village shop and beautiful church is within a 10 minute walk. This is wonderful walking area as the village is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The market town of Newport and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke are within a 10 minute drive.
Longhill is a detached stone cottage with a large garden adjoining farmland. The cottage has been renovated with great care to provide very attractive and comfortable accommodation for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. It is centrally heated and has been furnished with care and great attention to detail. Downstairs the floors are tiled in a ‘french farmhouse style’. Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms - one double room and a twin/double room with a ‘zip and link bed’ which can be joined to form a king size bed. There is also a bathroom with a built in shower, W.C, basin and a corner bath with a Jacuzzi feature. On the ground floor there is a beautiful, spacious modern fitted kitchen which is particularly well equipped with hard wood work tops, a ‘Belfast Sink’, a large range style gas cooker with a double oven, refrigerator, freezer, and washing machine; a pretty dining area with book lined walls; a wonderful sitting room with deep comfortable sofa’s, television/DVD player and a beautiful stone fireplace with a lovely wood burning stove so visitors can relax in front of a real fire. A door opens from here into a large conservatory overlooking the garden where meals can be enjoyed and visitors can relax. The third bedroom is on the ground floor. This is an attractive and fairly small room with two single beds – one of which is on a mezzanine level. This room is not suitable for young children as there is a wooden spiral staircase, balcony area and access to the kitchen. Folding bed/travel cot and high chair available. Central heating/electricity provided without extra charge.
The cottage has a large garden with shrubberies and a good sized lawn where games can be played. Garden furniture and an parasol are provided. Two cars can be parked in the drive. Public transport within 10 minutes walk.
