Lamberts stands on the outskirts of the small town of Freshwater on the far west side of the Isle of Wight. A 10 minute walk from the cottage takes visitors to Freshwater Bay where swimming, fishing and boating can be enjoyed. Here there is a public house and a lovely tea shop. There is almost immediate access from the cottage to footpaths leading up onto the beautiful Tennyson Down. This is a wonderful walking area with paths leading past Tennyson’s monument and along the coastal path to the Neeedles on the western tip of the Island. This west side of the island is renowned for its beautiful countryside, pretty villages and small sandy bays. Much of the coastal area is owned by the National Trust and carefully protected. In the centre of Freshwater there are a variety of shops, including a small super market, public houses which are good for meals and a sports centre with an indoor swimming pool. A good golf course is also nearby.
Lamberts is a brick built semi detached cottage which has recently been renovated to a high standard and with great sensitivity. Where possible original features have been retained and the wooden floors have been polished and adorned with rugs. The cottage is centrally heated and has been furnished and equipped with care in a traditional style to provide comfortable and attractive accommodation for 4 people. On the ground floor there is a lovely sitting room at the front of cottage with a large window, two comfortable sofa’s, a pine feature fire place, colour television/DVD player. There is a pleasant separate dining room and a doorway from here into a spacious kitchen which has country style fitted units with hardwood work tops, a Belfast sink, electric cooker and ceramic hob, fridge freezer and washing machine. A door opens from here into the rear garden. Upstairs there is a lovely light and spacious double bedroom and a pleasant twin room The bathroom is equipped with a bath, hand shower and basin. There is separate W.C. Heating and electricity provided without extra charge.
Lamberts has a small gated and walled garden at the front of the cottage and a gateway leads through to a larger rear garden with a small lawn and shrubbery plus an area for growing vegetables and a covered pond. Cars can be parked in the road outside the cottage. Within 3 minutes walk there is access to a regular bus service, a small post office and an exceptional and very traditional general stores. Nearby places to visit include the The Needles Park, Yarmouth Castle, Mottistone Manor, The Battery and Blackgang Adventure Park. The small coastal town of Yarmouth is within a 10 minute drive and is a popular sailing centre with attractive small shops and a variety of pleasant restaurants.
