Hilda’s Cottage is situated in the lovely countryside of Bowcombe valley, in a small peaceful rural hamlet, just on the outer edge of Carisbrooke. The cottage enjoys beautiful open views across the water meadows and from the garden there are attractive views of the nearby medieval castle of Carisbrooke. A variety of birds are attracted by the nearby brook and sheep often reside in the surrounding fields. This cottage is in a lovely central position on the Island which makes it ideal for touring. It is also a good walking area with footpaths and quiet lanes leading to the castle and to nearby downs to join the Worsley Trail and the Tennyson Trail. The large sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are a 20 minute drive away.

Paul & Sandra - May 2010 - A lovely week, abundant bird life in the garden, loads of goldfinches, and a heron down by the stream.

Sheila & Maurice - May 2010 - We really appreciated the warm welcome, the flowers and goodies. The smell of the warm bread in the porch on Sunday morning was wonderful.

June & Nigel - May 2009 - Neither of us want to leave it is a fantastic cottage and (the owners) have made us most welcome.

Mira, Dave & Angela - May 2009 - We had a wonderful stay here at 'Hildas' The views are stunning and the wildlife is plentiful. We thank (the owners) for a lovely welcome and their hospitality, it really made our stay a happy and relaxing one. 'Hildas' is a brilliant place to stay, it is so central and a good place to tour the whole island from. It is lovely and peaceful and yet not far from the town.

Ellie & Rebecca - March 2010 - We have had a lovely relaxing stay. (the owners) were very welcoming and made our visit easy and enjoyable. The cottage was warm and comfortable, so much better than we were expecting.

David & Soo - March 2010 - Cottages come no better than this (Although the weather is another matter) as everything we could require, and more, was provided and anticipated in advance. The flowers and the freshly baked bread were just two of so many thoughtful gestures from (the owners). The total silence punctuated only by birdsong was nectar.
