This pretty thatched cottage is beautifully situated in the grounds of Great East Standen Manor , ‘An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Horses are kept in the 60 acres of grounds which also has a lovely lake. The peacefulness of the surroundings encourages a variety of wildlife. This is a wonderful walking area with footpaths leading to nearby downs and beyond. The village of Arreton, with its public house, tea shop and village shop is within a ten minute walk. The sandy beaches of Sandown and Shanklin are less than a 15 minute drive away from the cottage.
This beautiful detached cottage dates back to 1300 and is build of Island stone and brick.. It has recently been renovated with the greatest care and has been awarded the ‘Island Conservation Award’. The cottage has been very attractively furnished and equipped to a high standard. On the ground floor the layout is open plan with wonderful terracotta tiles and the cottage has a lovely light and spacious feel. The cottage overlooks lawns where visitors can relax. There is a pleasant patio area at the side of the cottage with garden furniture, an umbrella and a barbecue. Two cars can be parked beside the cottage. Access is along a gravel lane. Regular bus service ½ mile. Smoking not permitted.
