The Granary is a charming cottage, which has been carefully converted from the wing of a large ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in lovely peaceful West Wight countryside and has views across the surrounding fields to the downs. This is a lovely walking area and is not too far from the coastal path. Within walking distance of the cottage is the delightful Newtown Harbour and Estuary - a National Nature Reserve renowned for its range of important habitats.
The Granary has been equipped and furnished to a very high standard, with great care and attention. It provides very attractive and comfortable accommodation for 4 people. There is a modern, fully fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and fridge freezer, plus a large separate dining area. The sitting room provides a lovely place to relax with colour television, DVD + video recorder and stereo system. There are two attractive bedrooms - one double and one twin. The modern bathroom is equipped with a bath and overhead electric power shower. Storage heaters, with convectors combined, keep the cottage warm.
The Granary has its own lovely secluded garden which is a favoured area for a variety of birds including Woodpeckers and Yellow Hammers. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The pretty village of Shalfleet is nearby and there is a pleasant public house within a 10-minute walk. A wider range of restaurants and shops are available in Yarmouth and secluded sandy bays and beaches, such as Colwell Bay are 5 minutes drive away. Complimentary welcome hamper. Parking space for 2 cars close to the cottage. Good public transport service within 200 yards and the Granary is on the island cycle route. Shop 1½ miles. Smoking not permitted.
