The Granary is a charming cottage, which has been carefully converted, from the wing of a large ancient barn dating back to the 17th Century - Ningwood Green Barn. It is nestled in lovely peaceful West Wight countryside and has views across the surrounding fields to the downs. This is a lovely walking area and is not too far from the coastal path. Within walking distance of the cottage is the delightful Newtown Harbour and Estuary - a National Nature Reserve renowned for its range of important habitats for birds.
The Granary has been equipped and furnished, with the greatest care, to a very high standard. It provides accommodation with the feeling of luxury for 4 people. There is a modern, fully fitted kitchen equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and fridge freezer, plus a charming separate dining area. The sitting room provides a lovely place to relax with a leather sofa and chairs, colour television/Freeview/DVD/VCR and stereo system. There are two very charming bedrooms - one double and one twin. The well equipped modern bathroom has a bath, overhead electric power shower, basin and W.C. Storage heaters, with combined convectors, keep the cottage warm. WiFi internet is available.
The Granary has a lovely secluded fenced garden which is favoured by a variety of birds including Woodpeckers and Yellow Hammers. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The pretty village of Shalfleet is nearby and there is a pleasant public house within a 10-minute walk. A range of good restaurants and shops are in the nearby coastal town of Yarmouth, a popular sailing centre. Secluded sandy beaches are only 5 minutes drive away. Complimentary welcome hamper. Parking space for 2 cars close to the cottage. Regular bus service within 5 minutes walk and the Granary is very near the ‘Island Cycle Route’. Shop 1½ miles.
