This lovely character cottage, situated on a small 40-acre farm at Blackwater, enjoys a central position on the Island. It provides an ideal base in both winter and summer for touring. Nearby is Newport, the main market town on the Isle of Wight with its medieval castle and pleasant shopping centre. The seaside towns of Shanklin and Ventnor are only a 10 - 15 minute drive away. More secluded beaches on the west side of the Island are also easily accessible. In addition guests have the opportunity to walk directly from the cottage over the nearby Downs or to follow the extensive Stenbury and Worsley Trails.
Stone Farm offers you a character cottage adjoining the farm cottage. It has been renovated to a high standard and is very well equipped and centrally heated. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels free of charge. The accommodation is as follows: double doors lead from the hall into a light and attractive sitting room with partly panelled walls, log burning effect fire, and comfortable seating, plus television and VCR/DVD. There is a fully fitted kitchen (split level electric oven and hob, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher) and pleasant separate eating area. A utility room contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. The cottage has two bathrooms (one with a bath + W.C upstairs and one with a shower + W.C on the ground floor); two bedrooms - one double room with fitted wardrobes and the second is a lovely large room which easily accommodates three single beds. A high chair and wooden cot are also available. There is a delightful secluded fenced garden adjoining the cottage, with a lawn and patio area where guests can relax, enjoy a barbecue, and children can play games.
The Cottage is situated on a lively working farm. There are several horses which are kept at livery. Guests can ride at nearby stables. Cyclists may enjoy using a nearby cycle route which has recently opened to link Newport and Sandown. Parking space for two cars close to the cottage. Good public transport service and farm shop ¼ mile. General stores 1 mile.
16/04/10 - The weather was great and we were welcomed very kindly. I give the cottage ten out of ten. I had a great time staying in the cottage and hope I can stay again.

31/10/09 Claire & Bob - Glad to be back at the cottage again. Fantastic weather. The cottage has been wonderful, clean and tidy. The horses are wonderful to look at from the windows. We hope to come a 3rd time.
