This pretty cottage is attractively situated within a pleasant ten minute walk of the sandy beach of Ventnor or the quiet cove of Steephill on the south coast of the Island. Ventnor Park is at the rear of the cottage and paths lead through these gardens to the Esplanade. These gardens also adjoin the Botanical Garden of Ventnor which is renowned for its rare plants and the mild climate. The Clock House is one of a small group of cottages which have been converted from the original stables of Steephill Manor House.
The Clock House is a very spacious one bedroom cottage which has been furnished and equipped with great care. It is centrally heated and the accommodation is all on the ground floor. There is an exceptionally large double bedroom with attractive beamed ceiling, colour television/DVD/Sky channels if visitors bring their own card.. A door leads from the bedroom into a Victorian conservatory with a tiled floor and French doors lead from here into the garden. There is a spacious bathroom with a wonderful Victorian bath with ball and claw feet, a built in shower, sink and W.C. plus a dressing room area with wardrobes.
The cottage has an open plan kitchen and dining area with a pretty bay window with leaded lights and comfortable seating. The kitchen has a lovely large pine dresser and is equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, refrigerator with freezer section and washing machine. A tumble dryer is also provided. There is a pretty sitting room and visitors can relax on sofas in front of an open fire during colder weather. This room has a colour television. DVD's can be watched and Sky channels are available, if visitors bring their own card.
French doors open into the walled garden at the rear of the cottage.This south facing walled garden has a small pond and garden furniture is provided. Folding bed, travel cot /high chair available. Heating/electricity provided free of charge. Two cars can be beside the cottage. Shops, restaurants and a public house within 10 minutes walk. Public transport - 3 minutes walk. Smoking not permitted.

Public Transport - Local bus 2mins walk. Busses go to Ryde (via Ventnor) or Newport. Local Shop - Shops are abundent in Ventnor and can be reached easily by foot. Local Amenities - Wide choice of local pubs and restaurants to be found in Ventnor town. There are also seaside activities and in the summer there are a wide variety of visiting attractions. Local Walks - The cottage is located in a fantastic walking area and you can choose between short walks into Ventnor or longer treks along the coastal path. Inland you are able to walk the Downs and see spectacular views and wild life. |
