Cedar Cottage is an attractive white walled cottage situated in a pleasant semi rural location with fields to the side of the property. It stands on the east side of the Isle of Wight near the coastal resorts of Seaview and Ryde. The esplanade of Seaview and the beach is less than 500 yrds away. A twenty minute stroll along the esplanade leads to the centre of Seaview where there is a variety of good restaurants and small shops. Seaview is a quiet coastal village popular for swimming, beach sports, rock pooling and sailing. The lovely sandy beach of Appley is also only about 1/2 a mile from Cedar Cottage. Here there is a pleasant café, tennis courts, putting and a large playground. It is an excellent spot to paddle, swim and build sand castles. The more lively entertainments of Ryde with its large selection of shops, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, bowling alley, ice rink and boating lake is within a mile of the cottage.
Cedar Cottage has been furnished and equipped with care in a traditional cottage style. It is centrally heated and provides attractive and comfortable accommodation for 4 people in two bedrooms. The cottage has a particularly pretty sitting room with a large inglenook style fire place and a wood burning stove. The open fire provides a wonderful central focus for the room which is furnished with sofas and a colour television, with Freeview, and a DVD player. It is a light room with three windows and an exposed oak floor with rugs. Also on the ground floor is a country style kitchen with a tiled floor, an AGA, electric cooker and hob, microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryer; a pleasant dining area; a small conservatory which opens into the garden; and a modern bathroom with a bath, hand shower, basin and W.C. Stairs lead up to a spacious and pretty double bedroom and a small twin bedroom. The stairs and bedrooms in the cottage have cream fitted carpets which give a feeling of comfort and space. Central heating and electricity are free of charge. A sofa bed, folding bed, travel cot and high chair available.
Cedar Cottage has a particularly large fenced garden at the rear of the cottage with an extensive lawn and mature shrubs and trees. This secluded garden is south facing and provides a very pleasant place to relax. Garden furniture, an umbrella and barbeque are provided. Three cars can be parked in the drive at the side of the cottage and there is a hardstanding area useful for boat storage if required. There is a public house within 5 minutes walk. Regular bus service - 5 minutes walk. There is also a seasonal local tourist train that links Seaview Esplanade with Ryde seafront and proceeds on to link with the hovercraft and ‘ Fastcat’ service to the mainland. Smoking not permitted.
