This lovely stone cottage is situated in the small rural hamlet of Bowcombe which stands between the pretty village of Shorwell and Carisbrooke with its medieval castle. Shorwell and Carisbrooke are both within a 5 minute drive and have public houses which are good for meals. The cottage offers easy access to the small bays and coves on the south west side of the Isle of Wight. The larger sandy beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are within a 20 minute drive. Bowcombe is a lovely walking area. Footpaths can be followed from close to the cottage to Carisbrooke and there is easy access to the Tennyson Trail.
This spacious semi detached cottage has been equipped to a high standard. It has cream fitted carpets throughout most of the cottage and it is centrally heated. The cottage has four bedrooms. Upstairs there is a new well equipped modern bathroom with a bath, built in shower and W.C., plus a pretty double bedroom and a single bedroom. On the ground floor there is a single bedroom and a twin bedroom plus a new shower room with W.C. The cottage has an attractive dining area, and a lovely light open plan sitting room, which is spacious and furnished with comfortable sofas, a colour television/DVD/Sky. French doors open onto a delightful patio and into the garden. There is a modern fitted kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher. The fridge freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer are in a separate utility room adjoining the kitchen. An extra bed for a child or travel cot/high chair can be provided. Heating electricity and hot water are provided at no extra charge for visitors from early May until October. From early October to May a weekly amount of 50 litres of oil is provided at no extra charge. Additional fuel is then charged at cost price. Telephone available. Two portable televisions with sky and DVD players can be placed in two of the bedrooms.
Bramble Cottage has a particularly pleasant secluded and sunny garden at the rear of the cottage which is enclosed. There are lovely views across the fields, and from parts of the garden the medieval castle of Carisbrooke can be glimpsed in the distance. Garden furniture is provided so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Two cars can be parked at the side of the cottage. Bus service within 5 min walk.
